Having sold more than 120 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling American rock bands, Bon Jovi rocketed to stardom in the late 1980s when 1986’s Slippery When Wet went super platinum and ushered in the era of hair metal bands that bridged pop and hard rock. But it was never an easy road, and they almost imploded during that time.

Jon Bon Jovi has opened up about suffering years of “dark misery” before making his new Bon Jovi album ‘Forever‘.The frontman of the American rock outfit spoke to Ultimate Classic Rock about the rough years without joy he endured which inspired the creation of the band’s 16th studio LP.“The overarching sentiment of this album is that of joy,” he told the outlet. “How did I get to joy? I had to work through a lot of dark misery!”He continued: “Our last record, which was called ‘2020’, was a lot of observations and narratives about what was going on in the world around us – whether it was the COVID crises or George Floyd, shootings in schools, soldiers with PTSD.”He also spoke about how he wanted to tour that album but wasn’t able to do so.

Bon Jovi is getting the whole band back together for a new docuseries that has been picked up by Hulu.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Religion of Sports, the Emmy Award-winning sports media company founded by director and producer Gotham Chopra, American football legend and Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, has acquired Jiva Maya, a U.K.-based production company formed in 2020 by writer and director Manish Pandey (“Senna,” “Grand Prix Driver,” “Lucky!”).  The deal marks the second company that was brought underneath the ROS umbrella, following the acquisition of Main Event Media earlier this year. The combined company plans to significantly expand its work in global football, cricket, and motorsport, especially Formula 1, for which Pandey is known.

Jill Biden, will make an appearance during Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, April 9. The First Lady’s appearance comes during month of the military child, and it is expected that Dr. Biden will speak to the resilience of the youngest generation, especially children of military members and veterans.

Skydance Sports, the sports-content division of Skydance Media, and Religion of Sports have partnered to develop, finance and produce a slate of sports-related content for multiple platforms.

Emmy Award-winning media company Religion of Sports, founded by NFL quarterback Tom Brady, NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and filmmaker Gotham Chopra, is moving deeper into film and TV scripted content. The new department will be led by film producer Ryan Stowell, who produced Manchester by the Sea and Naked Singularity, which stars John Boyega, Olivia Cooke, Bill Skarsgård and Ed Skrein.
