Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular “The annual two-hour special is back. In addition to the fireworks over the Manhattan skyline on the East River, it will also feature performances by several artists including  Bebe Rexha, Ja Rule, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip & The Roots.

Selome Hailu “Leguizamo Does America” has been renewed for a second season at MSNBC. The docuseries follows John Leguizamo in a travelogue format as he explores and highlights different Latino communities across America. Season 1 saw him visit New York City, Miami, Washington D.C., Chicago, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles, joined by guests including George Lopez and Robert Rodriguez. Locations for Season 2 have yet to be announced. Season 1 premiered on April 16 at 10 p.m., and went onto achieve a higher number of viewers in the adults age 25-54 demographic than any other MSNBC Films series. It also beat CNN in terms of total weekly viewers during its six-week run, and was Peacock’s most viewed MSNBC original in over two years. Hispanic viewers made up 13% of the audience of “Leguizamo Does America.”

The 47th annual “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks” will bring music, patriotic displays, and yes, fireworks to a live broadcast set for Tuesday, July 4 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC and streaming on Peacock.

Warner Bros. has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming comic book film, showing “Cobra Kai” star Xolo Maridueña taking flight as the superhero.Maridueña stars as Jaime Reyes, the third person to take up the mantle of the Blue Beetle in the DC comic books. In the trailer, when Jaime goes for a job interview, he’s handed a mysterious alien scarab inside a fast food container. He waits to open the container until he’s with his family, at which point the scarab attaches itself to Jaime’s body and transforms into a super suit — a surprising subversion of the classic comic book trope that the titular superhero has to hide his identity from his family and friends. In “Blue Beetle,” they know Jaime’s a superhero from the start.

What is happening with the current DCEU now that James Gunn is taking over and changing the entire direction of DC Studios? Well, there are four DCEU films still to be released this year, and one of them, “Shazam! Fury Of The Gods,” has already tanked. That likely means the end of that franchise.

Chris Rock is ready to let loose on Will Smith during his live global Netflix standup special this Saturday after months of honing jokes about his infamous Oscar slap, according to reports.  The special this Saturday comes nearly a year after Smith walked onstage at the Academy Awards while Rock was presenting and smacked him across the face.  The "Spiral" star has mostly stayed mum on the attack except for jokes he has been trying out on stand-up audiences in his "Ego Death World Tour." In July, Rock joked he was slapped by "Suge Smith," comparing Smith to the former Death Row Records co-founder, Marion "Suge" Knight. Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter in 2018 following a fatal confrontation in Los Angeles in 2015.

Thania Garcia Romeo Santos is back with the highly-anticipated third installment of his “Formula” series, “Formula Vol. 3,” which comes today via Sony Latin. This time around, the set boasts collaborators like Rosalía, Christian Nodal, Santos’ own children and Justin Timberlake — who croons a few lines in Spanish for the ballad “Sin Fin.” Keeping with the tradition of the previous volumes (which featured George Lopez and Kevin Hart), “Formula Vol. 3” starts with an introduction by comedian Katt Williams and transitions into the set’s second track “Bebo,” a signature melodramatic Santos bachata tune. Yet another comedian has sued US streaming service Pandora over allegations it failed to fully license his comedy routines. This time its George Lopez going legal, accusing Pandora of infringing his copyrights.There have been a flurry of lawsuits of this kind against Pandora this year, all of them making pretty much the same claims – basically that while Pandora secured the rights to stream recordings of each comedian’s performances, they failed to get permission to stream the routines contained within those recordings, what in legal terms would be considered the ‘literary works’.In music, of course, streaming services like Pandora secure two sets of licences, one from the record industry covering recording rights, and then another set from the music publishing sector covering the separate song rights.However, with spoken word content, generally only licences covering the recording rights have been sought.
