Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Josette Simon (Anatomy of a Scandal), Nico Parker (How to Train Your Dragon) and Leila Farzad (I Hate Suzie) have joined the cast of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, with nine signing on to reprise roles from previous installments of the beloved rom-com franchise.

Jack Dunn “Wedding Crashers” star Isla Fisher, Nico Parker (“How To Train Your Dragon”), Josette Simon (“Anatomy of a Scandal”) and Leila Farzad (“Black Mirror: Joan is Awful”) have joined the cast of “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” which premieres on Valentine’s Day next year in theaters internationally and on Peacock in the U.S. Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent return to play Bridget’s mom and dad. Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson and James Callis will return to reprise their roles as Bridget’s friends.

Sony Pictures Classics’ Wicked Little Letters grossed an estimated $1.5+ million in a big second week expansion for the R-rated British period comedy to 1,000 screens from five. The Thea Sharrock-directed film starring Olivia Colman (also a producer) and Jessie Buckley, no. 8 at the domestic weekend box office, has a $1.6+ million cume.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to “Wicked Little Letters,” a stranger-than-fiction mystery comedy starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. The movie, directed by “Me Before You” filmmaker Thea Sharrock, had its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. “Wicked Little Letters” will debut in theaters sometime in 2024.

“Wicked Little Letters” narrates the bizarre tale of several foul-mouthed anonymous letters that began terrorizing the small British town of Littlehampton in the 1920s. Against all odds, what might seem like a contrived, ridiculous story is almost entirely true.

Ellise Shafer “Gentleman Jack” has been canceled at HBO after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.Set in 19th century Yorkshire, the historical drama is based on the life of Anne Lister (Suranne Jones), a landowner and industrialist who is often referred to as the “first modern lesbian” due to her diaries, written in secret code, that documented her relationships with women. “Gentleman Jack” is a co-production with BBC One and also stars Sophie Rundle, Joe Armstrong, Amelia Bullmore, Rosie Cavaliero, Gemma Whelan, Gemma Jones, Timothy West and Tom Lewis.“HBO will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Gentleman Jack,'” the network said in a statement to Variety.
