EXCLUSIVE: Oscar and BAFTA-winning VFX firm Framestore has hired industry veteran and former MPC exec Gary Brozenich. He will take up the new position of international production supervisor. 

K.J. Yossman Framestore has tapped “Top Gun: Maverick” VFX supervisor Ryan Tudhope as its new creative director. Tudhope, who is a member of the Television Academy and AMPAS, co-founded VFX studio Atomic Fiction, where he was also CEO. The studio had over 350 employees across L.A. and Montreal, working on projects including “Deadpool,” “Rogue One” and “Game of Thrones.” Tudhope’s experience spans two and a half decades, in which he has worked on over fifty feature film and episodic projects including “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” for Amazon Studios and “Spiderhead,” working as production-side VFX supervisor alongside director Joseph Kosinski. He was nominated for an Emmy for his work on “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.”

Yossman Framestore, the VFX studio behind blockbusters including “Elvis” and “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness,” has made two internal promotions.Lucy Killick, until recently the managing director of film, will take up the role of chief operating officer for film and episodic in the U.K. while James Whitlam has been upped from managing director of episodic to EVP of film and episodic in L.A.

Yossman Sir William Sargent, CEO and founding member of Oscar-winning VFX studio Framestore, whose work includes blocbusters such as “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “No Time to Die,” has revealed he is stepping down.Chief operating officer Mel Sullivan will replace him, with a mandate to focus on the company’s strategic direction.Sargant, who has been at Framestore for 26 years, will remain with the wider business, focusing on the Framestore Company 3 Group.CFO Claire Price will oversee the finances of Framestore and Company 3 from July while Fiona Walkinshaw is upped to CEO of film and episodic and Charles Howell serves as president of global advertising and content.

Framestore founding member and CEO William Sargent has stepped down after 26 years in the role at the Oscar-winning VFX studio. Mel Sullivan has been made the company’s new CEO, effective from this week.

K.J. Yossman Framestore, the Oscar-winning VFX company behind upcoming features such as “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore” and “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness,” has tapped Naomi Stopa and Jinnie Pak to join the company as it charts a global expansion.Both hires will join the company’s Canada team, with Stopa appointed managing director, Vancouver, and Pak joining as head of production, Vancouver.Stopa, who has credits on films including “Free Guy” and “Black Widow,” was previously head of production at Digital Domain, overseeing Vancouver, Montreal and L.A.

EXCLUSIVE: Multi Oscar and BAFTA-winning VFX firm Framestore is consolidating its film and TV divisions in line with growing demand for episodic content.

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, much of the entertainment industry’s attention and concern — understandably — has been towards the sectors that felt the immediate consequences of the lockdown: the exhibitors forced to shut their doors and the studios and production companies who saw their shoots ground to a halt.
