Jack Dunn Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Joseph Zada and Esther McGregor have joined the cast of Prime Video‘s new drama series “We Were Liars,” based on the young adult novel of the same name by E. Lockhart. They join previously announced cast members Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, Candice King, David Morse, and Asher Ali.

Lockhart novel “We Were Liars” from Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie. “We’ve been obsessed with this beloved story for years and for a while it seemed like it might be the one that got away from us,” Plec and MacKenzie said. “But finally, we are elated to be bringing it to life with everyone at Prime Video and UTV, who are just as passionate about this twisty tale as we are. Amazon is moving forward with its series adaptation of E. Lockhart’s novel We Were Liars.

We’re getting the first look at Peacock’s Vampire Academy, its YA supernatural drama series from Julie Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre, based on Richelle Mead’s book series. Her antagonist is Val Turner (Bathé), the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan. The heist drama ”reveals how far some people will go for love, justice and the most valuable commodity in the world: the truth,” per NBC.

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has taken in for development Confessions (working title), a drama series starring and executive produced by The Vampire Diaries alum Paul Wesley, I have learned. Written and executive produced by TVD co-developer, executive  and showrunner Julie Plec and Bradley Paul (Better Call Saul), the project, which is in early stages, is based on Jason Smith’s non-fiction 2015 article The Confessions Of a Drug-Addicted High School Teacher.

Plec and Williamson will serve as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners on the series.“We have been looking for a project to do together and ‘Dead Day’ has all the ingredients we love as storytellers,” said Plec and Williamson.

In her new role, Cummins will oversee development and produce projects for the company, including those which Plec will create and write, and those for which she will supervise other writers.
