Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser shares new song with Sun’s Signature project

Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser has shared the second song from her new project, Sun’s Signature – listen to ‘Underwater’ below.Sun’s Signature is the project of Fraser and her partner, former Spiritualized and Echo and the Bunnymen drummer Damon Reece.The project was announced last month with the first single ‘Golden Air’, and both tracks will feature on Sun’s Signature’s forthcoming self-titled EP, which is set to arrive on June 18 via Partisan for Record Store Day.Fraser announced the forthcoming Sun’s Signature EP back in March. ‘Underwater’ is a rare 2000 single which Fraser performed at the ANOHNI-curated Meltdown Festival in London in 2012, where ideas for Sun’s Signature first began.Listen to ‘Underwater’ below.Fraser’s last single was 2009’s ‘Moses’, though she has collaborated extensively with other artists since then.

Cocteau Twins reissue final album ‘Milk & Kisses’ on vinyl

Cocteau Twins have announced that their final studio album ‘Milk & Kisses’ is to receive an official re-release.The album was first released in March 1996 via Fontana Records in the UK and was their eighth LP, including the fan-favourite tracks ‘Tishbite’, ‘Violane’ and ‘Eperdu’.The group did re-convene two years later, with the intention of recording their next full-length, but the sessions fell through, and no further albums were made.The re-issued version of the album is available to order now here, and is presented in audiophile 140gm vinyl by Proper Records, in collaboration with Universal Music Recordings. The labels say they have paid “scrupulous attention to the detail of the original UK first pressings”.Last September, the band’s vocalist Elizabeth Fraser had an asteroid named after her by the International Astronomical Union.“It does not pose a threat to humankind and will not collide with Earth for millions of years,” the Union noted, reassuringly.

Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser has had an asteroid named after her by the International Astronomical Union.Their label, 4AD, announced the naming of the asteroid on their official social media pages on Thursday (September 28). “Yesterday, after 10 years of research, the International Astronomical Union have named the asteroid 2013 TF19, ‘Fraser’, after Elizabeth Fraser,” read the caption posted to the label’s Instagram.It continued: “It does not pose a threat to humankind and will not collide with Earth for millions of years. It can only be viewed using an advance telescope but luckily is available to see on @nasa’s website.”They added that the asteroid was discovered on August 31, 2013 by M.

Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser has shared her first new song in some 13 years with ‘Golden Air’.It’s the debut single from Fraser’s new project Sun’s Signature, which features her along with her partner, former Spiritualized and Echo and the Bunnymen drummer Damon Reece. ‘Golden Air’ will feature on Sun’s Signature’s forthcoming self-titled EP, which is set to arrive on June 18 via Partisan for Record Store Day.The new song – which Fraser previously performed during a solo appearance at Meltdown Festival in 2012 – foregrounds the singer’s distinctive, gossamer vocals with a lush soundscape of guitars and electronics, with a pronounced bassline and muscular drums.Listen below:Fraser announced the forthcoming Sun’s Signature EP last month.

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorDowntown Music Services has inked a global music publishing administration agreement with Brooklyn-based artist, composer and producer Daniel Lopatin, the company announced Wednesday.Lopatin, who records and performs as Oneohtrix Point Never, has released multiple albums and tracks over the years including his most recent project, “Magic Oneohtrix Point Never.”He also has collaborated extensively with the Weeknd over the past two years, serving as an executive producer on the recent “Dawn FM” album, and also was musical director of the artist’s 2021 Super Bowl Half Time performance. Earlier this year he completed work on his first full album production for another artist, Soccer Mommy’s upcoming album “Sometimes, Forever.” His production credits over the years also include David Byrne, Moses Sumney, Anohni and Charli XCX as well as collaborations with Iggy Pop, Rosalía, James Blake and Elizabeth Fraser.His original film scores include Josh and Benny Safdie’s “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time,” for which he received the Best Soundtrack Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser has announced her first new release in 13 years as part of this year’s Record Store Day output.The Cocteau Twins singer’s last record came in 2009 with the single ‘Moses’, although she has collaborated with other artists on their own material since then.In April, she will share a new five-song EP under the name Sun’s Signature – a new project she has formed with her partner Damon Reece, who has played the drums for Spiritualized among other artists. The self-titled EP will feature some familiar tracks to Fraser fans, including the rare 2000 single ‘Underwater’ and two songs she played during a solo appearance at 2012’s Meltdown Festival, ‘Golden Air’ and ‘Make Lovely The Day’.The record will be completed by two tracks called ‘Bluedusk’ and ‘Apples’.
