Netflix’s upcoming CIA series starring Noah Centineo will be known as The Recruit and it will premiere on December 16, the actor revealed at the streamer’s Tudum event on Saturday.

According to its logline, “The Recruit” centers on “a fledgling lawyer at the CIA that becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime.”

While it’s been more than half a year since that report, we’re pleased to find out that the project is, in fact, moving forward with Amazon signing on to bring it to life.

Road House remake.According to Deadline, there has been some movement on the reboot of the ’80s Patrick Swayze movie. Besides the news of Gyllenhaal and Liman’s potential involvement, studio execs are said to be currently meeting with writers to rewrite a previous draft.Released in 1989, the original film saw Swayze star as bouncer Dalton, who is hired to clean up The Double Deuce, the “meanest, loudest and rowdiest bar south of the Mason-Dixon Line”.

“Edge of Tomorrow” is an interesting case-study in box office misfires that find critical acclaim and a second life after they leave the theaters. While the studio probably wasn’t happy with the overall box office performance of “Edge of Tomorrow,” which would go on to be known as “Live Die Repeat,” you can’t argue that the goodwill the film has received from fans and critics has propelled the idea of a sequel into almost getting made a number of times.
