Denise Welch claims a rebooted Byker Grove will face challenges in the current "PC" era. Byker Grove, the popular BBC teen drama that last aired 17 years ago and starred Ant McPartlin, Declan Donnelly, and Welch, will be rebooted under the new name "Byker," with the comedy duo serving as executive producers and creative consultants.

Seventeen years after the last episode aired on the BBC, “Byker Grove” is returning with two of its former stars – Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, collectively known as Ant and Dec – at the helm. “The Kardashians” producers Fulwell 73 will co-produce alongside McPartlin and Donnelly’s production company Mitre Studios (“Saturday Night Takeaway”). Originally launching in 1989, “Byker Grove” was set in a Newcastle youthclub and did not shy away from hard-hitting storylines. Among the well-known faces who came up through its ranks were “The Gentleman’s” Charlie Hunnam, former MTV host Donna Air, Jill Halfpenny (“Coronation Street”) and McPartlin and Declan, who played PJ and Duncan. The duo launched a short-lived career in pop music under their characters’ names, PJ and Duncan, before a successful pivot to TV presenting.

Actress Donna Air gave her fans a look inside her spacious space inside her Cotswolds barn conversion in a short video on social media. The TV star, 42, who designed the home herself, showed off her favourite room in the house, the spacious living room which was decorated in shades of cream and taupe as well as a splash of terracotta used on one of the sofas.

One of those lucky people includes presenter and actress Donna Air, who revealed she had sought a private test to confirm she had contracted COVID-19 and had been in self-isolation for the past three weeks.
