So, here’s the thing. “Foundation” season two is sneaky good.

After a nearly two-year wait, David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman‘s “Foundation” returns to Apple TV+ this month for its second season.

Can humanity survive an ever-changing landscape? The Apple TV+ series “Foundation” returns with a bold new vision, taking place a century after the Season One finale. Since then, a religious phase has prompted a wave of changes — some more destructive than others.

Season 2 of Apple TV+’s Foundation will debut globally on July 14 with one episode, followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday.

The comedian-actor made a virtual appearance at Spotify’s Stream On event Wednesday, announcing “The Riddler: Secrets in the Dark,” the next podcast series from Spotify, DC and Warner Bros. under their exclusive multiyear partnership. Minhaj had voiced The Riddler in 2022 hit Spotify podcast “Batman Unburied,” which starred Winston Duke in the title role. “Audiences are going to travel back to Gotham City with me in a story that leaves clues, puzzles and shines a spotlight on my personal favorite character, The Riddler,” Minhaj said in the video (watch the clip below).

The first season of “Foundation” was a somewhat surprising success for Apple TV+. Sure, it’s the long-awaited adaptation of a classic series of sci-fi novels.

“Hellraiser” has risen from the depths.The franchise, which began with 1987’s Clive Barker-directed original (based on his novella), has returned. This time, a young woman (and, crucially, recovering addict) named Riley (Odessa A’zion) comes into possession of the cursed puzzle box and becomes a target for the Cenobites, ghoulish demons from another dimension, led by The Priest aka Pinhead (this time played by Jamie Clayton). It’s a terrifically smart reinvention of a franchise that has languished for far too long, aided by a whip-smart script by David S.

Goyer, a devotee and prolific writer-producer of genre fare. Goyer and his Phantom Four Films partner Keith Levine produced Hulu’s new David Bruckner-directed “Hellraiser” movie, which launched Friday, and are in the middle of filming their latest take on classic IP, “The Omen” prequel movie “The First Omen,” in Rome. Beyond that, the pair are in post-production on the second season of Apple’s “Foundation” adaptation, breaking the writers’ room for more episodes of the “Batman Unburied” podcast for DC and Spotify. They’re also working on two spinoff podcasts, including “Riddler,” featuring Hasan Minhaj, and a Batgirl/Barbara Gordon project. And they’re in the early stages of developing a dramatic series revolving around Michael Moorcock’s “The Eternal Champion” books for Skydance and Apple TV+ with “Foundation” writer Dana Jackson. If that’s not enough, they’re also holding their breath for a renewal of the Warner Bros.-produced “The Sandman” at Netflix.

And a terrifying new trailer has just debuted.The trailer moodily establishes the return of some of the most iconic elements from “Hellraiser,” including (but not limited to) the insidious puzzle box and the appearance of Pinhead and an inter-dimensional demon (this time played by “Sense 8” standout Jamie Clayton).

The Cenobites make their bloody return in “Hellraiser.” Described as a “reimagining” of Clive Barker’s classic film, this update stays true to its roots while presenting a new take on its revered source material. And the film’s recent R rating puts to rest any fears that the new project will shy away from what made the original so compelling.

Constantine has been confirmed, with Keanu Reeves and Francis Lawrence both set to return.The cult movie, directed by Lawrence, was released 17 years ago and follows John Constantine (Reeves) as he exorcises the possessed and travels between Earth and Hell seeking salvation from eternal damnation for a suicide attempt in his youth.As reported by Deadline, a follow-up has now been greenlit, with Akiva Goldsman set to write the screenplay and produce the film, with J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella also helping out on production.No further details regarding a release date, title for the sequel or any further casting have yet been revealed.While you wait, revisit the Constantine trailer below.Back in 2020, Reeves said that he “would love to” do a sequel to Constantine, according to director Lawrence.Speaking in an interview with /Film, the director said he has spoken to Reeves and producer Akiva Goldsman about doing a sequel.“We have been talking about it recently,” Lawrence said. “It’s always stuck with all of us because we all love the movie, and especially realising there’s a real cult following for this movie, it’d be fun to make.

Variety can confirm that Warner Bros. will make a sequel to the 2005 supernatural action film “Constantine” starring Keanu Reeves. The blockbuster star will reunite with original director Francis Lawrence, best known for taking over the “Hunger Games” franchise after the first film. “Constantine” has been a hot property in Hollywood, sparking a NBC series created by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, and was even more recently being developed into a new series for HBO Max by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions. However, sources tell Variety that the HBO Max series is now dead, although the streamer had been in early talks with an actor for the lead role before the new movie came together. Bad Robot’s “Madame X” series will also not be moving forward at HBO Max. Insiders say these decisions were not due to creative reasons, and expect to find a new home for both projects.

EXCLUSIVE: Following her breakout role in the Apple TV+ series Servant, Nell Tiger Free has found her first leading role in a major studio film. Sources tell Deadline that she is set to star in 20th Century’s First Omen, a prequel to the classic horror franchise The Omen. Arkasha Stevenson will make her feature directing debut on the pic and will also handle the rewrite alongside writing partner Tim Smith. Smith is set to executive produce, with Phantom Four producing.

Just two weeks after its season 1 premiere, Apple TV+ has renewed David S. Goyer’s global hit drama series Foundation for a second season.

It’s been a bit more than a year since we first heard the news of a new “Hellraiser” film from director David Bruckner. And in that year, apparently, the film has already been produced and is in the middle of post-production, with an eventual Hulu release in the cards.

As comic books and fantasy have become more central to the culture, author Neil Gaiman has become one of its most popular and prolific figures. His novels “Stardust,” “Coraline,” “American Gods,” and “Good Omens” have all been adapted into successful film and TV projects.
