Al Roker, and his Today show co-host Craig Melvin, are staying home from the morning show for a few days after a staffer was diagnosed with Coronavirus.

NBC News will feature taped segments during the 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. hours of “Today,” according to a person familiar with the matter, while co-anchors Al Roker and Craig Melvin remain at home, the latest change to some of TV’s best-known news programming in the wake of the spread of the coronavirus around the nation.

The nation’s biggest news networks are being swept along by the very headlines they’re trying to deliver.

A staffer on the third hour of NBC's Today show has tested positive for the coronavirus. NBC News employees learned of their colleague's diagnosis late Sunday, and Monday, hosts Craig Melvin and Al Roker took the morning off from Todayout of an abundance of caution as NBC News traces their contacts.

The co-anchors practiced social distancing by sitting several feet apart at their co-anchor desk on the show, and they made the announcement that two of their colleagues, Al Roker and Craig Melvin, would be taking the morning off due to the news of the diagnosis on-set.

The Coronavirus pandemic is quickly sweeping through New York City and the Today show is the latest to be effected. One of the staffers in the third hour of the show has been diagnosed after having “mild symptoms.”

The “Today” show has been hit with its first case of COVID-19.

On the Monday broadcast of NBC’s “Today,” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie told viewers that a staffer who works on the third hour of the morning show has the novel coronavirus, prompting the network to take co-hosts Craig Melvin and Al Roker off air for the time being.

Pete Buttigieg might be definitively out of the 2020 presidential race, but he's still got a spot of limelight to step into. Buttigieg's next gig will be a guest hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live this Thursday, March 12. He teased to Today anchor Craig Melvin on Monday that the guest line up includes one of his favorite Star Trek captains of all time.

Surprise! Carson Daly and Siri Daly (née Pinter) announced the sex of their fourth baby on Tuesday, January 21.

Kristen Welker, 43, was officially announced as the new co-anchor for Weekend TODAY on Jan. 10 and she’s already being welcomed with open arms! The television journalist, who works as a White House correspondent for NBC News, will be joining Peter Alexander every Saturday morning for her new gig, and after existing anchors Carson Daly, Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker confirmed her addition to their TODAY family, they were full of praises.
