‘House Of The Dragon’ teases war and another time jump in episode eight trailer

HBO has released a trailer for the latest episode of House Of The Dragon, setting up what looks to be a dramatic conclusion to the first season of the Game of Thrones prequel. In the episode eight trailer, which you can watch below, we can see that the story has been thrust even further into the future with a second time jump, with Aegon, Aemond and Rhaenyra Targaryen’s sons all being recast with older actors. The first time jump came in episode six, with Emma d’Arcy and Olivia Cooke taking over as the adult versions of Rhaenyra and young Alicent. The two characters had previously been played by Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, respectively.Elsewhere in the trailer, we see Rhaenys sat upon the throne at Driftmark in the absence of her severely injured husband, Lord Corlys Velaryon aka The Sea Snake. In a voiceover, Matt Smith’s character Daemon remarks: “The Sea Snake has taken a grave wound in battle in the Stepstones.”Another character later adds: “Who will take the Driftwood throne?” suggesting Rhaenys’ time upon it could be short-lived.After seeing Daemon get his hands on a precious dragon egg, the trailer then ends on an ominous note, with Rhys Ifans’ Otto Hightower warning: “The threat of war looms.”You can watch the trailer below.Last week, Game Of Thrones author George R.R.

Zack Sharf Whoopi Goldberg has a message for racist “Lord of the Rings” and “Game of Thrones” fans: “Get a job!” During the Sept. 6 episode of “The View,” Goldberg and her co-hosts confronted the racist backlash that has met the recently launched fantasy series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “House of the Dragon.” Goldberg called out fans for accepting otherworldly creatures such as hobbits and dragons but not accepting Black actors. “They don’t exist in the real world,” Goldberg said of the two series. “You know that? There are no dragons. There are no hobbits. Are you telling me Black people can’t be fake people too? Is that what you’re telling me? I don’t know if there’s like a hobbit club, I don’t know if there are gonna be protests, but people! What is wrong with y’all?”

‘House of the Dragon’ Recap: Age Is Just a Number in King’s Landing

Jordan Moreau SPOILER ALERT: Do not read if you have not watched the second episode of “House of the Dragon,” titled “The Rogue Prince,” now streaming on HBO Max. In the dating world of Westeros, age is just a number. After losing his wife Queen Aemma last episode —which took place six months ago in the “House of the Dragon” timeline” — King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) felt the pressure to find a new wife and start making royal heirs. Any Westeros king would do the same thing, but the disturbing part is that Viserys’ cousin Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) was playing matchmaker with her own daughter, the way-underage Lady Laena Velaryon (Nova Foueillis-Mose). Incest isn’t new to the world of “Game of Thrones” or the Targaryens, but the age difference between Viserys and Laena was almost as stomach-churning as last week’s medieval C-section performed on the queen.

, maneuvering for the Iron Throne continues despite the fact that King Viserys (Paddy Considine) has named Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) his successor -- and that council pledged to honor the decision when the day comes for her to wear the crown. One of those people still positioning for the seat of power is Lord Corlys Velaryon, aka the Sea Snake, played by Steve Toussaint. The actor tells ET that his character is full of pride and resentment and still reeling from what happened to his wife, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best), many years prior. “He doesn’t hide the fact that it irks him that his wife is not on the throne,” Toussaint says, not hiding the fact that he thinks Rhaenys is a far more qualified ruler than her cousin, Viserys.

HBO reveals premiere date for ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’

“Fire & Blood.” Since it’s Targaryens, you can expect lots of dragons, silver wigs, and yes, incest — in this case, it’s between an uncle and a nice, instead of the aunt and nephew action that Daenerys and Jon had going on.“Game of Thrones” director Miguel Sapochnik, who’s best known for helming that show’s infamous action set pieces such as “The Battle of the Bastards,” is back as a director and producer / co-showrunner, so you can expect a lot of big action, too. The plot centers on the Dance of the Dragons — the civil war that took place between Targaryen siblings Aegon II and Rhaenyra over the throne after their father’s death. The main characters will be Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith, “The Crown”), who is the king’s brother; his niece Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), who is the king’s daughter; King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine); Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke); and Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), known as the Sea Snake. Although “Game of Thrones” ended to mass audience dismay — and controversially gave the Targaryen family an unceremonious end when Jon killed Daenerys and then went off into the wilderness — HBO is going full steam ahead on the prequel, and author George R.
