The series is currently filming its fourth season in New York, while the third season aired its finale in February. “We know that our fans can’t get enough of ‘Raising Kanan.’ As the inevitable evolution of this young man into a killer plays out, we knew we had much more backstory to share in this ever-escalating family saga,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming for Starz.

The Starz drama Power Book II: Ghost has a return date. The popular spinoff from the Power franchise will premiere March 17 at midnight on the Starz app, with the linear return scheduled for 8 p.m. that evening.

Announced at the Television Critics Association 2022 summer press tour, the news comes ahead of the Aug. 14 debut of Season 2.“Raising Kanan,” the third series in the “Power” universe, it set in the early ‘90s and tells the origin story of Kanan Stark (MeKai Curtis) and his entry into the criminal world through his mother, Raquel (Patina Miller) who ruthlessly runs the family’s drug empire.
Starz has renewed Power Book III: Raising Kanan for a third season ahead of the show’s sophomore return on August 14. Production on Season 3 will begin this summer in New York.
The series also stars Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$ and Shanley Caswell with Quincy Brown and Toby Sandeman recurring. Antonio Ortiz has been made a series regular in Season 2.

She was in one episode of Season 2 and will now appear in five episodes of Season 3.Vélez is known for her roles on shows like “New York Undercover,” “Oz,” and “Dexter.” She also appeared in the third and fourth seasons of the Emmy-winning ABC drama series “How to Get Away With Murder.” On the film side, she will next be seen in “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” and will lend her voice to “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” after having previously voiced Rio Morales in the first film.
Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Deuce), Kyle Vincent Terry (Gotham) and Caroline Chikezie (Mayhem) are joining the upcoming third season of Power Book II: Ghost, Starz’s Power universe spinoff, in recurring roles. Power Book II: Ghost is the first series in the expanded Power franchise from executive producers Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Deadline (Netflix did not comment when asked by TheWrap).Kemp will retain an executive producer role on the “Power” spinoffs, which are all in various stages of production. The agreement is similar to that of Shonda Rhimes and “Grey’s Anatomy,” when she left ABC for Netflix back in 2018.
