Variety has secured access to the first clip from the film. The film, an adaptation of Deborah Levy’s 2012 Man Booker Prize shortlisted novel, centers on poet Joe (Christopher Abbott) and war photographer Isabel (Mackenzie Davis), whose marriage is dying when Kitti (Ariane Labed), a naked stranger found floating in the pool at their sunny holiday villa in Greece, is invited to stay.

Hulu has officially renewed “Nine Perfect Strangers” for a second season.Nicole Kidman will return as star and executive producer, along with a new cast nearing deals to join in the Swiss Alps-set installment that includes “White Lotus” star Murray Bartlett, Liv Ullman, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Aras Aydin. Kidman stars as Masha, the lead counselor at Tranquillum House, who has her own traumatic past involving a dead daughter.

Youssef will now appear in a cast that includes Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, Hannah Love Lanier, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman. The official logline states that the show “is based on a real-life CIA program and follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.”

But once the writers’ room wrapped, sources say creative differences led to the producers and Brady agreeing to part ways. Production on the show is slated to begin in September.Sheridan created “Lioness” under his expansive overall deal with Paramount.

Kelley series “Big Little Lies,” which won multiple statuettes in the limited series category before a second season was announced.At this time, no casting or plot info is available about Season 2.

Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives. The series is set to go into production in June.De Oliveira currently stars in the Netflix series “Locke & Key,” with the third season of that series set to debut later in 2022.
Nicole Kidman may be a nominated for her fifth Oscar for her work in “Being the Ricardos,” but she wasn’t at the annual nominees luncheon on Monday at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel.Variety can exclusively reveal that Kidman is at home in Nashville under doctors’ orders, recovering from a torn hamstring. Apple TV+ has announced premiere dates for its upcoming espionage series Slow Horses, starring Oscar winner Gary Oldman, and female-driven anthology series Roar, starring Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie. The dates were revealed Friday, along with some first-look images, as part of Apple TV+’s TCA presentation.
