MUNA‘s Naomi McPherson has landed their first acting role as Janis Ian in Jason Reitman’s forthcoming film SNL 1975.The film centres around the first episode of Saturday Night Live, which aired in October 1975, focusing in particular on the behind-the-scenes moments before it first came to the small screen. Ian appeared on the show as one of its first musical guests, alongside Billy Preston, who will be portrayed in the film by Jon Batiste.

After working as a singer through the early 1960s, Cocker burst into the mainstream in 1969 with his electrifying cover of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends,” which topped the British charts and sparked a major U.S. following, thanks in large part to his show-stopping performance at the Woodstock festival (and subsequent film). With his powerful and unmistakable soul-blues voice and explosive stage presence, Cocker’s popularity grew with the “Mad Dogs & Englishmen” tour, live album and film, which featured an all-star band helmed by Leon Russell.

Hilaria Baldwin revealed her husband Alec Baldwin had hip replacement surgery shortly after completing filming on "Rust." Alec, 65, was having "intense chronic pain," according to the yoga instructor. The title refers to a nickname for Preston, the only non-member ever to be credited on a Beatles recording. Fifteen years after his death in 2006, Billy Preston was inducted this past weekend into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Ozzy Osbourne has paid tribute to Randy Rhoads following news of Rhoads’ induction into this year’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.Rhoads will be inducted for a ‘Musical Excellence Award’ in the ceremony which will be held this October, alongside LL Cool J and Billy Preston in the same category.Speaking ahead of Rhoads’ induction, Osbourne told Rolling Stone: “It’s a long time coming, but he got there in the end.”“He was a great player…I owe my career to him,” Osbourne said.
