Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Valerie Bertinelli‘s departure from “Kids Baking Championship” is not a cut-and-dry case of Food Network firing the “One Day at a Time” alum from her role as co-host and judge of the show. Rather, it’s the aftermath of the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned channel deciding not to renew Bertinelli’s larger exclusive deal with the network when it ended in 2022, sources tell Variety. Bertinelli signed a multi-series deal with Food Network in 2018, which expired in 2021.

Born and raised on the Sea Islands of Charleston, S.C., Brown grew up in a big family “with a love for food, especially the cherished recipes they passed down from generation to generation,” per Food Network. Currently in its ninth season, Brown’s Emmy-nominated “Delicious Miss Brown” is shot on-location in Charleston and “shares the family events, culture and recipes close to Kardea’s heart.” The eighth season of Brown’s daytime series reached more than 6.7 million viewers.

Selena Gomez is cooking some holiday specials for the Food Network.

Season 2 will see the family road trip through Appalachia where cameras will follow them on wild adventures, family competitions and enjoying some of the best food in Tennessee and Kentucky. The second season will be comprised of four hourlong episodes, each of which will highlight new dishes, destinations and attractions.

Production on the eight-episode second season is set to begin later this year, with new episodes scheduled to debut in early 2024. Hosted by “Tournament of Champions” alum Ferguson, “Superchef Grudge Match” seeks to settle two long-standing personal and professional food feuds in one-round, one-dish winner-takes-all heavyweight battles. HGTV has ordered a 12-episode third season of its popular series No Demo Reno starring designer Jenn Todryk.

Sofia Behzadi HGTV has renewed its series “Ugliest House in America” starring actress and comedian Retta. Season 3 is set to premiere in early 2023.The new series will follow Retta on a tour of five U.S. regions in which she will visit unsightly properties nominated by homeowners who believe their place is one of the worst in the country.

HGTV’s breakout hit Married To Real Estate will return for another season. The channel has ordered 12 new one-hour episodes of the series, which follows real estate broker and designer Egypt Sherrod and her husband, builder Mike Jackson, as they help families buy and renovate their dream homes in Metro Atlanta.

Teen Mom 2‘s Chelsea and Cole DeBoer have embarked on a new adventure with HGTV. The network has given a series greenlight to Farmhouse Fabulous (working title), a new renovation and design show featuring the couple for premiere in spring 2023.
