MSNBC’s Ari Melber Airs Leaked Ted Cruz Audio Flip-Flopping on the Big Lie: He Doubted Existence of ‘Actual Facts’ (Video)

Melber noted that Cruz seems more “tethered to reality” than in his public life. The MSNBC also fact checked that these legal proceedings are what is par for the course of a court of law investigating election fraud.“It sounds like in a diplomatic way in that November call, Senator Cruz already knew that there had been no public information suggesting that there were facts to support overturn the election, that he was even skeptical them coming up short in court,” Melber said.

Warner Bros. Discovery Exploring Ways to Put More CNN on Max

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor After spending months keeping CNN from expanding into streaming, parent company Warner Bros. Discovery appears to have changed its mind. Warner Bros. Discovery is exploring ways to get more CNN programing on to its Max streaming service, according to a person familiar with the matter, looking at the news outlet’s broader portfolio to see what content might work. Executives will have to navigate agreements with CNN’s traditional distributors that often require cable and satellite companies get first access to CNN’s live broadcasts. Yet CNN’s rivals have grappled with similar obstacles and found ways to repurpose the news and opinion shows they run. The Fox Nation streaming outlet runs Fox News Channel’s opinion programs a day later. Fox News in 2020 unveiled a new international service that puts its programs in countries such as Mexico and Spain. MSBNC in March of last year unveiled a plan to offer episodes of “Morning Joe,” “Deadline: White House,” “The Beat with Ari Melber,” “The ReidOut,” “All In with Chris Hayes” and MSNBC’s opinion programs on the Peacock streaming hub on-demand the day after they air on cable.

Ari Melber Breaks Into Lauryn Hill Rap While Reporting on Trump: ‘Hypocrites Always Wanna Play Innocent’ (Video)

arraignment in the classified documents case against him one week ago — MSNBC’s Ari Melber was so enthused by the revelations therein that he began rapping Lauryn Hill’s hip-hop classic “Lost Ones” on Tuesday’s episode of “The Beat.”“Think about what Lauryn Hill once said in her wisdom,” the host said before getting lyrical: “‘Hypocrites always wanna play innocent, always wanna take it to the full-out extent / Never wanna face it when it’s time for punishment / Can’t slick talk on the day of judgement because consequence is no coincidence.’ That’s a deep statement about justice or consequence or accountability or what some people call karma.”The moment came about 10 minutes into Melber’s report on Trump’s Fox News interview with Bret Baier that had the former president saying that he returned “some” of the mishandled classified documents to the Department of Justice upon being subpoenaed (contrary to previous statements saying he returned “all”) and that he didn’t return them in a timely manner because he was “very busy.”Melber took the interview as the latest evidence that special counsel Jack Smith has an altogether “measurably stronger hand than other prosecutors” Trump has faced in the past. “So I’ve shown you some of these breakthrough pieces of information.

Elizabeth Vargas Hopes NewsNation Debut Adds New Choice for Evening-News Viewers

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor The new New York studio that Nexstar Media Group built for Elizabeth Vargas’ nascent NewsNation program is so big, the anchor believes she could do five cartwheels across if called upon to do so. Starting Monday night, the company begins the process of figuring out if such rigorous calisthenics will be necessary. TV-news aficionados likely know Vargas from her 15-year stint as a co-anchor on ABC News’ “20/20,” but on Monday night, she will jump right into the fray in the information wars, with a program at 6 p.m. eastern – a time slot that has become more competitive in recent months. At MSNBC, for example, Ari Melber’s “The Beat” has become one of that network’s most-watched programs. Late-afternoon has become more of a cable-news battlefield as viewers who have learned to work from home after the coronavirus pandemic tune in earlier to get a recap of the day’s events.

After walking through Murdoch’s ongoing feud with the former president, which is currently seen in Fox News’ “soft ban” of the politician, which has garnered his heated responses on Truth Social decrying the network as “MAGA hating globalist rhinos” and demanding “they get out of the news business,” Melber invited “Talking Points Memo” founder and editor Josh Marshall on air to parse things out further.
