Academy Awards are this weekend, giving you some time to catch up on your Oscar watchlist. This year, there’s a wide range of films nominated for awards, whether you’re into superheroes, stories about complicated musicians, or tales about the war.

It also hosts fantastic Q&As that really dive deep into the acting process and for the recent SAG Awards, organizers hosted several panels with contenders in different categories. I was honored to moderate a few, including one for the lead female actor in a film with nominees Ana de Armas (“Blonde”), Cate Blanchett (“Tár”), Danielle Deadwyler (“Till”) and Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All at Once).”

Apple TV+ pulled the sheet from its new romantic action-comedy “Ghosted” on Monday, starring Chris Evans and Ana De Armas.Cole (Chris Evans) falls deeply in love with Sadie (Ana de Armas) after a romantic date, but after he tells his family about her, thinking she’s “The One,” and tries to reach out to her again for a second date, she doesn’t respond to his texts. Set to The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” Cole ventures across the pond to find Sadie and confront her about their relationship. He finds out she’s a secret agent by getting tangled up in one of her missions where mysterious men trap him outside a vault and almost torture him with a wasplike creature. Next thing Cole knows, he is off on an international mission to save the world with a woman he loves but who also ghosted him.

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the upcoming romantic action-comedy , starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. The film follows Evans, a regular civilian named Cole, who finds himself falling head over heels for de Armas, an undercover spy named Sadie, on the first date. The whirlwind romance throws the unlikely duo into a world of international espionage. 's official synopsis teases the film, which reads, «Salt-of-the-earth Cole (Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (de Armas)—but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent.

The trailer for Ghosted - starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas – just debuted online!

Julia MacCary editor Apple TV+ dropped the trailer for the upcoming rom-com turned thriller “Ghosted,” which stars Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. The trailer shows Evans’ character Cole certain that Sadie (de Armas) is not just “ghosting” him, or ignoring his texts, after one date. Convinced they are meant to be together, he travels to London in what he hopes to be a romantic gesture, only to discover Sadie is not the person he thought, and is actually part of the CIA. What ensues is a spy-thriller where “action speaks louder than words.” De Armas joins the film after her recent Oscar nomination for “Blonde.” Her credits also include “Deep Water,” “Blade Runner 2049” and “No Time to Die.” Evans has played Captain America in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, as well as performed in “Before We Go,” “Gifted” and “Playing It Cool.” Evans and de Armas previously acted together in “Knives Out” and “The Gray Man.”

James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, said she rejected roles subsequently thrown her way for “almost two years” until 2000 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.“At that point, people in the industry couldn’t really tell the difference between whether I was Chinese or Japanese or Korean or if I even spoke English,” Yeoh told People. “They would talk very loudly and very slow.”She added: “I didn’t work for almost two years, until Crouching Tiger, simply because I could not agree with the stereotypical roles that were put forward to me.”Yeoh is nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Oscars for Everything Everywhere All At Once, against Cate Blanchett, Ana de Armas, Andrea Riseborough and Michelle Williams.Last month, Yeoh became the first Asian actor to win Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards.“Every one of you know, the journey, the rollercoaster ride, the ups and downs,” Yeoh said in her acceptance speech.

Netflix biopic, Blonde.The actress faced her share of criticism when it came to being cast in the role, but the movie itself has been widely panned by many critics. One of its more generous reviews came from NME, which praised the film for being “less a Marilyn Monroe biopic, more an effective psychological horror”.Armas herself has now hit back at those who took up swords against the film – and herself. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Knives Out actor said the biopic was not supposed to “please people”.“Of course, the reaction that gets the most attention is the one in the U.S., but that wasn’t the whole experience,” she said in response to a question about the film’s poor reception.

Ana de Armas is private with her personal life, keeping her relationship with Paul Boukadakis to herself. Boukadakis made a rare appearance alongside her, accompanying her at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. While the two didn’t walk the red carpet together, they sat next to each other throughout the event and posed for a picture mid-party.

Michelle Yeoh just won her first Screen Actors Guild Award on Sunday. The 60-year-old took home the trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her turn as Evelyn Quan Wang in . «SAG AFTRA, to get this from you who understands what it is to get here. Ana de Armas keeps it glam on the red carpet at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night (February 26).

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” could continue its momentum and win in several film categories, including Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Ke Huy Quan) and Outstanding Performance by a Cast. The multiverse-hopping indie directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert enters the evening with the wind at its back, having taken home the top prize on Saturday at the Producers Guild Awards, indicating that the zany film is not polarizing voters as much as some feared.

29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best film and TV performances of the past year, were handed out live.For the first time since 1998, the ceremony was not broadcast on TV. Instead, it aired on Netflix's YouTube channel after it was announced that the platform will begin streaming the ceremony live in 2024, as part of a multi-year partnership with SAG-AFTRA. Going into the awards,  and both led with five nominations each, including four individual acting nods and one for ensemble.

It will stream on Netflix’s YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. The SAG Awards will hand out awards to actors across 13 categories in TV and film, voted on by SAG-AFTRA’s more than 122,000 members. Martin McDonagh’s “The Banshees of Inisherin” and Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s “Everything Everywhere All at Once” lead the nominations, with both films earning five nods, including the highest honor of best ensemble. Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon,” Steven Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans” and Sarah Polley’s “Women Talking” round out the best ensemble category. “Ozark” led the TV field with four nods, with “Barry,” “Better Call Saul” and “Only Murders in the Building” each receiving three.

Ana de Armas believes there are no new movie stars because social media has removed "the mystery" surrounding actors. During an interview with Vanity Fair's 2023 Hollywood issue, the 34-year-old Blonde actress stated the concept of a movie star has been diluted as a result of social media. The Cuban-Spanish actress remarked, "I feel like the new generations don't have that concept, because of social media.
