The Beatles has revealed a John Lennon encounter that made Mick Jagger feel “uncomfortable”.A new oral history of the acclaimed band called All You Need Is Love is set to be released on April 11. The book is comprised of interviews taken from the controversial book The Love You Make (1983), which was written by Steven Gaines and Peter Brown, the personal assistant to Beatles manager Brian Epstein.Upon the book’s original publication, the Beatles were not pleased with its contents, with Gaines claiming to The Times that “Paul and Linda [McCartney] tore the book apart and burned it in the fireplace, page by page.“There was an omerta, a code of silence around the Beatles, and they didn’t think anyone would come forward to tell the truth.”Now, Gaines and Brown will release All You Need Is Love, inspired by director Peter Jackson’s documentary Get Back.

Richard Ashcroft has recreated the music video for The Verve’s ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ for Sky Sports. Check out the clip below.The singer recreated the visual accompaniment to the 1997 hit for a Sky Sports promotion of Formula One, and filmed the clips a couple of days before last week’s British Grand Prix 2023 kicked off.Instead of walking the streets of London as in the original video, Ashcroft is seen performing the track around the UK’s Silverstone Circuit, which hosted the first British Grand Prix in 1948.

A caustic, typewritten letter from John Lennon to Paul McCartney is expected to garner up to $40,000 via an ongoing auction.

Gotta Have Rock and Roll, currently stands at $22,000. At the time he sent the typewritten letter, Lennon — then age 31 — was furious with McCartney over an interview he did weeks earlier with music magazine Melody Maker.

Richard Ashcroft has said that Netflix wants to make a docudrama about the ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ copyright dispute.The Verve hit was the centre of an infamous copyright row with The Rolling Stones’ ex-manager Allen Klein over its sampling of the Stones’ ‘The Last Time’.The dispute was resolved in 2019, with Ashcroft and The Verve no longer having to pay royalties to Klein’s company ABKCO.
