Hulu has announced the premiere dates for limited series Under the Bridge and the two docs The Contestant and the film Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told.

Avant, the beloved former Motown chairman whose work as an industry executive and mentor earned him the nickname the «Black Godfather» of music, sports, politics and entertainment, died Sunday at his Los Angeles home.

Jacqueline was like a second mother to me as well as my philanthropic mentor. She and her husband Clarence were founding donors to get HollyRod started and supported us unwaveringly for the entire 25 years. We will never stop speaking Jacqueline’s name or honoring her legacy.”

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Hulu is adding three new titles to its growing lineup of original docs: “Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told,” “Queenmaker: The Making of An It Girl,” and “The Jewel Thief.” “Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told” “recounts the rise and fall of a small Atlanta HBCU picnic that exploded into an influential street party and spotlighted ATL as a major cultural stage,” per Hulu’s description. “Can the magic of Freaknik be brought back 40 years later? Executive producers include showrunner Geraldine L. Porras and director P Frank Williams, as well as Jermaine Dupri, Luther Campbell, Peter Bittenbender and Melissa Cooper for Mass Appeal, Eric Tomosunas for Swirl Films, Terry Ross and Alex Avant. Nikki Byles and Jay Allen are producers.

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has opted not to proceed with a second season of Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, a father-daughter comedy starring and executive produced by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. The series, inspired by Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who produced alongside Alex Avant, debuted its eight-episode first season on April 14.
