Connie Stevens has been selected to receive the Ralph Morgan award, SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local’s highest honor.

SAG-AFTRA is celebrating the upcoming Labor Day weekend with a podcast featuring Liz Shuler, president of the 12.5 million-member AFL-CIO, which represents 57 affiliated unions, including SAG-AFTRA, and workers in every ZIP code in the country.

With their commercials contracts set to expire tonight, SAG-AFTRA and the advertising industry’s Joint Policy Committee have agreed to extend them on a day-to-day basis to allow negotiations to continue.

David P. White will be stepping down later this spring from his role as National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator for the entertainment media industry’s largest union after a 12 year run, SAG-AFTRA announced on Friday.“David has been an invaluable advocate for our members and deserves immense credit for SAG-AFTRA’s success over the past decade,” SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris said in a statement.

David White is stepping down as SAG-AFTRA’s national executive director and chief contract negotiator. He’ll be staying on at the union until later this spring.
