Netflix is rolling out a new feature called My Netflix, which will replace the Downloads tab on the bottom right of the home screen on iOS apps starting today.
Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Netflix has rolled out a new feature designed to — what else? — get you to stream as much as possible on the service. Starting Monday, Netflix’s app is adding My Netflix, a new tab described as a “one-stop shop tailored to you.” The My Netflix tab supersedes the Downloads tab on the app, where users could find and watch the TV shows and movies they had saved for offline viewing. My Netflix provides a consolidated view of users’ downloads; a list of TV series and movies they have given a “thumbs up” to; shows and films saved to their My List watch list; trailers they have watched; reminders they have set for upcoming releases; a list of titles that they’re in the middle of watching; and what they’ve recently watched.

Nancy Meyers is speaking out.
Just days after parting ways with Netflix, Nancy Meyers next movie has found a new home as sources tell Deadline Warner Bros. is in early talks to acquire the project. Sources stress no deal is done and they are exploratory talks but add there is something to it and discussions have begun on various details about project. Deadline reported on Tuesday that the film was leaving Netflix after the studio pulled the plug due to budget concerns. Meyers moved quickly to take the project out to other studios and Warner Bros. is looking like the front-runner to land the film. Meyers will write and direct the project but what is unknown is if the all-star cast will still be joining. Meyers was in talks with Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz, Owen Wilson and Michael Fassbender to star but given that was the plan when Meyers had a much larger budget it is unknown if those actors stay committed to the project.
When it was announced that Netflix was going to foot the $130 million bill for the new Nancy Meyers rom-com with an A-list cast, there were many (myself included) who thought it was a bit crazy. That’s a superhero film budget, not necessarily the type of money you throw at an adult-focused romantic comedy.
Hollywood Reporter. The company gave her a cap of $130 million, according to the report, but the filmmaker requested $150 million. The flick had Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Michael Fassbender and Owen Wilson in talks to star. The name was allegedly titled “Paris Paramount” and Meyers was set to write, direct and produce the feature. The project was announced last year and the plot would have chronicled a young writer-director who falls head over heels for a movie producer. The Post reached out to Meyers for comment. The synopsis is semi-autobiographical for Meyers, as she was married to director Charles Shyer for almost two decades. The duo worked on a few iconic comedies over the years such as “Private Benjamin,” “Baby Boom” and “Father of the Bride.”The movie would have been Meyer’s first flick since the 2015 Anne Hathaway rom-com “The Intern.”In December 2022, Meyers responded to rumors about a sequel to her much-loved 2006 film, “The Holiday.”But she shot down any chatter about a second installment on social media at the time, saying: “So many DM’s about this — sorry but it’s not true.” It was reported previously that the possible sequel had returning stars Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black on board, with production beginning earlier this year. The “Titanic” star, 47, also separately denied that there was a sequel for “The Holiday” in place.“I read something about that, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Winslet told People at the time. “I promise you not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that.
Netflix over budget concerns. News that the project is being shelved comes following reports that A-listers Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Owen Wilson and Michael Fassbender were circling the lead roles in the film. Netflix was backing the movie, which was announced in April 2022 and greenlit with a price tag well over $100 million, a source confirms to Variety. (Industry newsletter Puck reported that the film would cost $130 million to produce). It’s not clear how much of the budget would’ve been devoted to designing an immaculate kitchen, a staple in the Nancy Meyers Cinematic Universe.
Nancy Meyers‘ romantic comedy movie will not be moving forward at Netflix.
Following news last week that Netflix and director Nancy Meyers were at crossroads over the budget on her next film, sources close to the situation say the streamer has decided to part ways with the project. Deadline reported last week that Scarlett Johansson, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz and Michael Fassbender were in talks to star but that the budget, which sources say was coming in around $130 million, was causing issues. Sources now say, that while the studio was fine with $130 million, Meyers was still fighting for $150 million, with $80 million of that going to above the line costs. With both sides refusing to budge on the budget, sources say Netflix was leaning toward fully moving off the film over the weekend with the plug ultimately getting pulled this morning.
Netflix has pulled the plug on Nancy Meyers’ $130 million ensemble comedy “Paris Paramount,” The Wrap has learned.Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Michael Fassbender and Owen Wilson were previously in talks for roles in the film which centered on an above-the-line filmmaking duo who reunite on set after falling in and out of love with one another.“Paris Paramount” would have been Meyers’ return to the director’s chair since helming 2015’s “The Intern,” which starred Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway.

Caroline Framke Chief TV CriticYou don’t have to have watched The CW’s “Nancy Drew” to watch “Tom Swift,” the network’s new series that is, in the most technical terms, a spinoff. Though Tom (played by Tian Richards) first appeared on the second season of “Nancy Drew,” the show bearing his name has little to do with it, which is for the best. There’s no real need to complicate things even further for Tom, who goes through so much in the pilot episode that there’s barely room for nuance beyond the basics. The series’ rush to establish every moving piece begins immediately, with a voiceover that wastes no time illustrating the Swifts’ place in this world.
EXCLUSIVE: When Tom Swift drops in on Nancy Drew to help her solve a mystery, he will not be alone. He will be joined by a major character in the proposed spinoff based on the classic Tom Swift book series. LeVar Burton has been tapped to voice Barclay, Tom Swift’s (Tian Richards) steadfast AI companion and tough-love mentor, in the upcoming episode of the CW drama Nancy Drew, which will serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series, now in development at the network.
