Netflix says it reached the Top 10 in 75 countries.

The programming quota applies to all streamers operating in Europe and is part of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive of the European Commission.Disney+, which launched in November 2019, is hovering around the 10% European content mark but has recently been ramping up commissions of local original productions.The study shows that Netflix in the U.K.
New research shows almost a third of Netflix’s European content now hails from the continent, as the effects of quota regulations and its push into local original content kick in. Netflix likely didn’t set out to bring the in-person Tudum crowd to tears during the three-hour event — but once they started flowing, it was a fortunate side effect the streamer proudly displayed on social media. “I wish you could have been there to convey the electricity of the audience and capture those moments,” Netflix chief marketing officer Marian Lee told Variety Tuesday about the streamer’s first attempt at pulling off Tudum as a real-time presentation with an in-person audience, following two years of the virtual-version of the event. “We posted on Twitter crying fans in the audience because it was just like that sort of Beatles moment every time one of their favorites came on stage, there were just sobbing tears in the audience.”

Goldbeck, Ernestine Hipper). The film — a grim, disquieting adaptation of the famous World War I novel — had dominated the U.K.’s BAFTA Awards with a record-breaking seven wins, including best film, director (Berger), adapted screenplay, cinematography, sound, original score and non-English language film.
