Marvel Studios is really embracing the idea of Disney+. In a little more than a year, the studio has used the streaming platform to develop shows that dive a little deeper into the character stuff that we have come to know and love in the MCU.

Netflix’s six series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher, as well as their Avengers-style crossover event The Defenders – will have two more weeks to get their fix, with all 13 combined seasons leaving the platform’s UK site at the start of March.It’ll be slightly earlier for Netflix subscribers in some regions, with NME confirming that in the US, Canada and some European countries, the full slate of series – which were produced between 2015 and 2019 – will leave the service on February 27. In Australia, the shows will disappear a day later.It’s yet to be announced where the series will be available to stream once they leave Netflix – though given that Marvel is owned by Disney, the company’s own Disney+ service – which launched in November 2019, five months after Netflix dropped the third and final season of Jessica Jones – seems to be a likely bet. Worth noting is that one of the Netflix series’ most iconic characters, Wilson Fisk (aka Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio), recently made his comeback in the Disney+ original Hawkeye.

The upcoming film, Captain Marvel 2 could see the debut of Superman actor Henry Cavill into Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is a strong buzz going around in Hollywood that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor will be seen alongside Brie Larson in the MCU flick.

For years, questions have plagued Marvel Studios about their relationship with their TV offshoots. Were those series canon? And if so, why did the movies generally ignore their existence, while the shows were always so thirsty to connect to the movies? The answer to these questions of canon—are they all connected or not canonically— seemed to arrive a few months ago when Disney+ added all of its Netflix series to the official Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline around the release of “Echo,” a series with close ties to Netflix’s “Daredevil.” Fans immediately assumed this meant all the Netflix shows and heroes were now part of the MCU proper, and it turns out they were right.

So, reports are that “Daredevil: Born Again” has gone back into production. This happens after what is being reported as a tumultuous time for the folks at Marvel, particularly involving this highly anticipated series.

When it was announced that Disney+ would be the official streamer of the entire Disney catalog, most people assumed the platform would stay family-friendly, with the company’s sister streamer, Hulu, getting the more adult fare. But with the addition of the Marvel TV shows from Netflix, most of which push the limits of TV-MA and border on R-rated content, it appears Disney+ is getting more mature.

All six of Marvel’s original seres for Netflix, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders limited series as well as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which had been streaming exclusively on Netflix, will be moving to Disney+ starting March 16. They will be available across all other Disney+ markets later this year.
