Real Estate hosted a special album release show for their new record ‘Daniel‘ last week, where they covered Elton John’s ‘Daniel’ – for a room full of people named ‘Daniel’.The Brooklyn-based band’s new album came out on Friday (February 23), and they celebrated with a show at Union Pool in Brooklyn for an audience who shared the name of the new LP.To open the set, the band performed ‘Daniel’ from Sir Elton’s 1973 album ‘Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player’. The mammoth cast of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, sidestepped spoilers and jumped over plot lines as they presented their film Sunday morning at a London Film Festival press conference.

EXCLUSIVE: Inside Amy Schumer co-creator Daniel Powell and Alex Bach’s Irony Point production banner is expanding its relationship with Netflix as the streaming giant bolsters its comedy slate. The company has signed a multi-year production commitment overall deal with the streamer, with a first-look component for projects developed by Irony Point, encompassing stand-up comedy, sketch, variety, alternative formats and more. Johnson, who wrote the original, has written the sequels and is producing with partner Ram Bergman. Sources said the deal will be worth north of $400 million, making it one of the biggest streamer movie deals in history.

Zack Sharf Johnny Depp’s return to acting following his defamation trial against Amber Heard is not being backed by Netflix. Bloomberg reported that the Depp-starring French movie “La Favorite” is receiving “financial backing” from Netflix, but a source close to the streaming giant told Variety this reporting is not true. Netflix is not financing the movie but has licensed the film to stream in France only after it completes the country’s 15-month theatrical window.

Netflix did its annual blitz, a big dog and pony show for the press last night, revealing its entire film slate for 2024.  Most of the heavy hitters you already know, like Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver,” which we already know, comes out in April, or “Beverley Hills Cop: Axel Foley,” or John Ridley’s “Shirley,” or Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man,” recently announced for a June release, but there’s plenty of surprises and new confirmations too.
