Zack Snyder To Shoot ‘Army Of The Dead 2’ After ‘Rebel Moon’; Signs First-Look Deal With Netflix

Justice League producer Charles Roven has revealed what was behind the decision to remove Henry Cavill's moustache with CGI during reshoots. The 2017 DC blockbuster famously encountered more than a few hiccups along the way, including director Zack Snyder stepping back from the movie before it was finished.

It stems from a first-look deal Rhoades signed with the streamer earlier this year for her Pacesetter Productions. JK Simmons is in talks to reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon in Batgirl!

Zack Snyder‘s “Justice League” featured “Spider-Man” actor and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Jim Gordon, and we all assumed that would be the end of his run in the DCEU as the studio attempted to pivot with Matt Reeves‘ “The Batman” adding Jeffrey Wright (“No Time To Die,” “Westworld“) as the new Jim Gordon and likely will appear in the HBO Max series.

The Whiplash Oscar winner is in negotiations to come back as Commissioner Gordon in Warner Bros. HBO Max DC movie Batgirl. 

Simmons previously played Gordon in the 2017 film “Justice League” and returned to the role for additional footage in Zack Snyder’s 2021 director’s cut of the film. Simmons would star alongside “In the Heights” alum Leslie Grace, who was recently cast in the lead role.

EXCLUSIVE: Sister, the independent studio founded by Elisabeth Murdoch, Stacey Snider and Jane Featherstone, has struck a first-look deal with Chris Goldberg and his Winterlight Pictures to develop and produce television and feature content. Under the pact, Goldberg will be based out of Sister Los Angeles.

Army Of The Dead‘s first spin-off has been revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.Army Of Thieves stars and is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who played safecracker Ludwig Dieter in Zack Snyder‘s original film.Dieter returns as the lead character in the new film, which takes place six years before the events of Army Of The Dead.

What led one safecracker into a city besieged by zombies? It’s an intriguing question that follows a character in Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead.” Along with the director, Netflix gives viewers more clues with a new film centered around Dieter. “Army of Thieves” offers glimpses into how the small-time criminal found his place on a very challenging global stage.

Screenwriter, producer, and director David S. Goyer (“Krypton,” “Foundation“) has been behind some of the most popular comic book films such as “Blade,” “Blade II,” “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Man of Steel.” Things haven’t always gone his way, and the writer/director has had to deal with some difficult moments during the making of his projects.

“Rebel Moon,” a previously announced science-fiction adventure film that Snyder will direct. The news comes after Netflix revealed that Snyder’s most recent film “Army of the Dead” was watched by 75 million member households in its first 28 days, making it one of Netflix’s top 10 most watched original films.

Joey King is signing a huge new deal!

Joey King, star of Netflix’s The Kissing Booth franchise, is expanding her relationship with the streaming giant with a first-look deal. Under the pact, King will produce and develop films For Netflix via her All The King’s Horses production company. At 21, King is one of the youngest creatives to strike a deal with a streaming network.
