What do we look for when shopping for fall cardigans? We have somewhat of an unofficial checklist in our minds. It definitely needs to be warm, and we obviously go for soft over itchy. Little features like pockets are always appreciated, and something easy to care for is great too.
We wouldn’t forget about style though! A perfect fall cardigan needs to look the part, evoking the best parts of the season through its colors, patterns and more. Okay, and if we could add one more thing… a sale price would be nice. And free shipping! You know, just while we’re spitting out ideas.
Get the Knox Rose Open Front Cardigan (originally $45) for just $40 at Target! Free shipping!
Before you run to an actual Target store, note that this cardigan is only on sale when you buy it online! And with fast, free shipping to the 48 contiguous United States, there’s no need to make any unnecessary trips. We’re sure a Target run is in your near future anyway!
This cardigan is made of a heavyweight jacquard knit, so it’s warm, thick and super soft. As a bonus, it’s also made with 50% recycled polyester to keep things eco-friendly — always a plus for sustainable shoppers! We obviously were first drawn in by that beautiful striped pattern though. The rust, navy and beige shades make for a beautiful combo that flawlessly suits the season!
This cardigan also has a totally open front with no buttons, long sleeves with neat cuffs and a longline fit, hitting most people around the knee. There are functional patch pockets in front too, which obviously made Us wildly happy!

carbonite-encased Han Solo from “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back” has been masterfully created by a San Francisco Bay Area bakery and aptly dubbed “Pan Solo.”One House Bakery owners Hanalee Pervan and her mother, Catherine Pervan, spent a month after-hours crafting the uncanny likeness out of dead dough, which is yeastless and often used for baked goods like strudels. Displayed outside of their Benicia, California, shop, Hanalee (who served as the sculpture’s model) told the New York Times, “People are just super interested by it, and you see people smelling it and poking it and they’re just like, ‘What is going on?’ They kind of don’t believe you that it’s made out of dough.”A California bakery spent a month making a 6-foot recreation of Han Solo frozen in carbonite, made entirely of bread.

Gregg Goldstein No one ever said filming in New York City was easy, especially during a pandemic. Just ask the showrunners behind Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” or the producer of Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming HBO Max limited series “Full Circle.” “We had an incident yesterday on our set in Queens: a crazy person grabbed a grip by the hair and was trying to take a swing at her. Thank God she got away and he ran off,” “Circle” producer Jonathan Filley said in late September. “And we just had a car rear-end another car, which ran into our electric truck. … There’s a lot of mental instability in the city these days.” This wouldn’t be a shock to “Maisel” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino or her fellow showrunner, Daniel Palladino. who had a hazardous Washington Square Park shoot in spring 2021. “There had been a lot of anti-police protests, and weirdos were encroaching on our set,” Palladino says. “There were no police, and we finally bolted. We had our own security, but there was a group of film students who were keeping an eye on us.” (“And our purses!” Sherman-Palladino chimes in.) “They were chasing some people off, and we realized our de facto security was a bunch of 18-year-olds at NYU.”

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor With lead vocals by Springsteen, “Only The Strong Survive” features songs from the catalogs of Motown and Stax Records, the songwriting duo of Gamble and Huff and more. This album, Springsteen’s 21st studio outing, will also feature guest vocals by soul great Sam Moore, as well as contributions from the E Street Horns, string arrangements by Rob Mathes, and backing vocals by Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Michelle Moore, Curtis King Jr., Dennis Collins and Fonzi Thornton. Bruce Springsteen commented: “I wanted to make an album where I just sang. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the Sixties and Seventies? I’ve taken my inspiration from Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jimmy Ruffin, the Iceman Jerry Butler, Diana Ross, Dobie Gray, and Scott Walker, among many others. I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this glorious music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it.”
