A young man has died following a horror crash in the Highlands.
Tragedy struck shortly after 7.30am on Friday, November 25 when officers were called to a three-car smash on the B9101, near the junction of the A939, in Bognafuaran, Nairn.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, sped to the scene, but sadly, a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A woman was also rushed to hospital by ambulance. Her age, the extent of her injuries and her current condition is not yet known.
The road was locked down while cops launched a probe into the incident in a bid to piece together exactly what happened. Enquiries remain ongoing, but the road has since reopened.
Sergeant Christopher Donaldson said: “An investigation is under way to find out the cause of the collision and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us.
"In particular, if anyone has any dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, please pass it on by contacting Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0492 of 25 November, 2022."
