Taro Daniel suffers "s***" slip of the tongue after Andy Murray win at Australian Open
Andy Murray in the second round of the Australian Open. The 28-year-old Japanese tennis player recorded a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 straight-sets victory over the British number three.Underdog Daniel, who has progressed through to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, was understandably over the moon post-match.His excitement at the achievement clearly got the better of him, as he first headed off for the dressing room before realising he was wanted for an on-court interview. And then during that he suffered an unfortunate slip of the tongue. When asked if it was the best he'd ever played, Daniel said: "Yeah it was an amazing level for me. "But I was getting pretty nervous in the third set, I was cramping a little bit at the beginning of the third, and I was like ahhhh s***, you know."He nervously laughed off the error before continuing: "But you know I tried not to make a big deal out of this match, because everyone was asking me 'oh you're playing Murray, and you're going to play on a big court'.What's your favourite slip of the tongue by a sports star? Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, 15, scores worldie bicycle kick to keep Liverpool on alert
Liverpool. The 15-year-old phenomenon was playing in the Copinha 2022, a tournament for U20s teams in Sao Paulo, when he thundered in a bicycle kick from the edge of the box.Several opposition defenders fluffed their attempts at clearing the ball before it finally dropped to the winger, whose audacious strike left the goalkeeper scrambling to no avail. And the starlet’s attempt will no doubt have caught the attention of Liverpool, with the Anfield club being just one of several elite European sides already monitoring his development.Other clubs circling the player tipped to become the next big thing in South American football are Barcelona, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.Meanwhile, Manchester United are the latest to reportedly make an approach in order to snap up the youngster.Despite his age, Endrick has already been promoted to the u20s for the Brazilian giants, who believe his skillset could take him to the very top.Do you think Endrick will end up signing for an elite European club? Man Utd slap staggering loan fee on Anthony Martial despite flop's miserable form
Ralf Rangnick took interim charge of the team, though he was named on the bench for their Premier League trip to Brentford on Wednesday. The Frenchman’s exclusion has been as a result of both injuries and his desire to leave Old Trafford after a seven-year spell in which he has failed to live up to his £58million transfer fee.He continued to flop this season, despite being handed opportunities to impress by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring just one goal in the 359 minutes he has played. With little sign that he can become a regular starter under Rangnick, Martial made the decision to request a transfer. But he is currently being prevented from leaving by United’s remarkably high asking price considering his form in recent seasons.According to Sport Mediaset, via Football Italia, United are charging a loan fee of around £5m for the attacker. That price is described as being ‘extraordinary’ considering Martial’s situation at United and the fact he will only be at his loan club for five months.Should Manchester United reduce their asking price to allow Anthony Martial to leave? Let us know in the comments section...It is also stated that United would be expecting a loan club to pay Martial’s wages in full, which would cost another £5m.That would bring the total fee to the region of £10m, an astonishing price for a player who has failed so badly to impress. The high demands look set to scupper United’s attempts to move him on, with Juventus general manager Maurizio Arrivabene making it clear his club would not be signing Martial for that price.Another potential suitor in Newcastle are also said to have ‘baulked’ at United’s asking price, leaving Martial with few destinations after Sevilla’s bid for him was rejected.

Parent fumes at primary school's new 'constant potato' lunch menu for pupils
Covid-19 cases, reports Leicestershire Live."During the autumn term we were suffering with very high levels of staff sickness but we managed to maintain good service until Christmas,” the catering manager wrote in a letter sent to parents.“With the ongoing pandemic and the increase in Omicron cases, this situation worsened after Christmas."We have robust contingency plans in place to deal with staff shortages and these plans involve a simplified menu which can be delivered with fewer staff."While we are experiencing high levels of staff absence, we will be introducing a simplified menu. This will start from Monday 17 January 2022."A simplified menu will ensure we can continue to support the seamless delivery of good quality, hot, healthy school meals at your school every day."But one of the parents – who has chosen to remain anonymous – has hit out at the move.“It's gone from being a varied, fairly interesting menu to being pretty much constant potatoes,” the parent told Leicestershire Live."On one day, one of the menu options is a jacket potato with chicken mayonnaise that you can have with a side of jacket potato."On other days, you can order a jacket potato with jacket wedges, creamy mashed potatoes, chips, minted potatoes and parsley potatoes."I understand that everyone is dealing with staff shortages, but why does that mean that our kids now have to exist on a diet of potatoes cooked in different ways?"It's especially tough for vegetarian or vegan kids.

Molly-Mae Hague's dad jumps into 'disgusting' Elle Darby racism row
Molly-Mae Hague in which she faced backlash for “tone deaf” and “privileged” comments she made during an appearance on The Diary Of A CEO podcast, the Love Island star’s dad Stephen has stepped in to defend her in a passionate post about how “tough” it is for influencers and social media stars.Stephen, a former police officer, also appeared to address the recent controversy surrounding YouTuber Elle Darby after she lost almost 100,000 followers and was dropped by her management when historic racist, fatphobic and homophobic tweets resurfaced online.Although Molly-Mae and Elle have both issued public apologies in the wake of the incidents, the pair are still under fire on social media, which has led Stephen to speak out.“It must be so tough for media stars, influencers and public figures. Especially the younger ones who are still learning the emotional rollercoaster of life.“And it hurts me to see people literally driven to death by cruel comments of people who don’t even know the individuals and hide behind a keyboard often on fake accounts cancelling someone for something five, six, seven or 10 years ago when a child, is profoundly naive and shows a real lack of emotional intelligence,” he wrote on Instagram.Closer Love Island 2019 - where are they now? - sliderWho's still in love?
