‘X-Men ’97’: 1990s ‘X-Men’ Animated Superhero Series Getting Revived For Disney+ In 2023

Joe Otterson TV ReporterAMC has officially ordered a series based on the Anne Rice “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” novels, Variety has learned.The cabler has ordered eight episodes of the show, which is titled “Mayfair Witches.” It was originally announced that AMC had opened a writers room for the series in August under their script to series model.The show will focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches.

So far, the Disney+ world has only really known one live-action “Star Wars” project and that is “The Mandalorian.” But Lucasfilm has quite a few new series in the works, including the upcoming “Book of Boba Fett,” which is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year.

EXCLUSIVE: Disney+ has put into development Rhona Who Lives by the River, an animated musical series from Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek, with Jumanji and Avengers star Karen Gillan attached to voice the titular character and executive produce. Four-time Oscar nominee Danny Elfman will create and oversee music on the project and also will executive produce. The project hails from 20th Television Animation. Stoopid Buddy Stoodios will provide animation.
