Wynonna Judd to Perform at 2023 CMT Music Awards After Last Year's Final Act With Mom Naomi (Exclusive)

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Tanya Tucker, Patty Loveless and Bob McDill will be the Country Music Hall of Fame’s three 2023 inductees, it was announced in a news conference at the hall’s museum in Nashville Monday morning. Tucker will be inducted into the hall in the “Veterans Era Artist” category, while Loveless will get her entree in the “Modern Era Artist” category. McDill is to be inducted in the “Songwriter” category, which is in rotation with the “Recording and/or Touring Musician” and “Songwriter” categories, each coming up every three years. Cheers went up at the announcement ceremony as well as around Nashville, as all three have long been favored for induction, and Tucker and Loveless particularly talked up as should-be shoo-ins for their historical importance as leading women in the genre.

A true Texas telecast. The 2023 CMT Awards were held in Austin, Texas for the first time, and the ceremony got a warm welcome from Matthew McConaughey, who made a surprise appearance on the Sunday, April 2 CBS show.

Alanis Morissette is using Sunday's 2023 CMT Music Awards as a networking event for female country stars, she told ET from the red carpet. «I love the sisterhood,» Morissette told ET's Cassie DiLaura before heading into the show. During the ceremony, she'll make her CMT debut with a performance of  «You Oughta Know» alongside Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Madeline Edwards and Morgan Wade.

On Sunday, the «Window With a View» singer and the star arrived together at the 2023 CMT Awards — marking their first major public appearance as a couple. Ballerini, who is co-hosting the ceremony alongside Kane Brown — wore a body-hugging corseted dress with pointed heels. It's possible that this isn't the only outfit the 29-year-old musician will wear this evening. Ballerini and Stokes have been linked since January, and she later confirmed their romance on the  podcast.

Gwen Stefani on the red carpet ahead of the show. «My second concert ever was No Doubt,» Jelly Roll told ET's Cassie DiLaura. «We was at an amphitheater, it s**t storm rained, I mean just rain storm, we were mud sliding dancing to 'Spiderwebs,' it was awesome.» Stefani is set to perform at Sunday's CMT Awards, and Jelly Roll added he'd seen a sneak preview of her performance.

On the collaborative front, Gwen Stefani will join recent No. 1 country hitmaker Carly Pearce for a duet of a yet-unannounced song. And Alanis Morissette will be joined on her original signature number, “You Oughta Know,” by four of country’s most compelling young artists — Morgan Wade, Madeline Edwards and chart-toppers Lainey Wilson and Ingrid Andress (plus guitarist Jackie Venson) — as part of a salute to the 10th anniversary of CMT’s Next Women of Country initiative. All four of Morissette’s singing counterparts on this collab came up being featured as part of the annual Next Women lineups.
