Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

And as second-in-line to the throne, the Duke of Cambridge’s royal engagements have given members of the public a good insight as to what kind of monarch he may be in the future, a royal expert has said.

During an exclusive interview with OK!, Grant Harrold, who is the former butler to Prince Charles, William and Harry, explained how Prince William’s future status as monarch will be influenced greatly by his later mother, Princess Diana. “I really think William is a people’s person,” he says. “The Queen is as well but he’s a real people’s person as you can see through his interactions, hugs and even how he’s spoken out about caring for people’s mental health and homelessness.” According to Grant, William’s nature as being a “people person” is something that he has inherited from his mother, who was known for her compassion and accessible approach to the public. “He seems like he will be a King of the people.
