King Charles and Prince William have "no intention" of apologising to Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle ahead of the King's official Coronation, according to a source. The historic event will take place on Saturday 6 May, but there is a huge question mark over whether or not Charles's youngest son, Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle will attend, after relations between them and the rest of the Royal Family hit an all-time low. Since their departure from official royal life in 2020, Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, have launched a number of attacks on Harry's family, with a number of shocking claims made in their now infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, a Netflix documentary in late 2022, and Harry's memoir, Spare, which was published in January 2023.
Harry and Meghan are said to want an apology from Charles, 74, and William, 40, and, in an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby to promote his memoir, Harry suggested that there was a chance of reconciliation if his family members met him in private. He told Tom: "The ball is in their court.
“There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re [the family] willing to sit down and talk about it," he continued. The Daily Mail now reports that, in order for him to attend the King's Coronation in May, Harry "wants an apology" from his father and older brother.
However, it seems that one person who is not open to sitting down with his brother is William, who was the subject of numerous negative allegations in his brother's book, Spare. A source told the Daily Mail that the Prince of Wales is "not in the mood for any conversation" but added that Charles is more open to having a conversation They explained: "Harry is his son and His Majesty will always love him.
