Why Renee Zellweger chose prosthetics and padding for 'Pam'

EXCLUSIVE: After helping tell the crazy behind-the-scenes story of the leaked Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, director Craig Gillespie looks to have found another wild true story to adapt for the big screen. Sources tell Deadline Gillespie has signed on to direct MGM’s feature adaptation of New York Times best-selling author Ben Mezrich The Antisocial Network. The book tells one of the biggest news stories of 2021, about a ragtag group of amateur investors, gamers and Internet trolls who brought Wall Street to its knees. MGM landed the rights to Mezrich’s book proposal back in January, only a week after the true-life story began taking shape on Wall Street and quickly made it a priority at the studio by tapping Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo to adapt.

Zack Sharf Renée Zellweger revealed in a recent Harper’s Bazaar cover story that a producer once offered her alcohol on set before she was supposed to perform a nude scene. The two-time Oscar winner did not name the project, and she stressed she was not a victim in the situation.

Renée Zellweger, love was basically written in the stars. It's been almost a year since reports first emerged of the actress' budding romance with boyfriend Ant Anstead, the TV host who was briefly married to Christina Haack. While the introduction was undoubtedly an adorable meet-cute, there was also a shadow of sadness to it, as Renee was grieving the loss of her good friend and publicist Nanci Ryder, who passed way in June 2020 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Amazon Studios has handed a two-season order to an adult animated comedy series from Emmy-nominated Ramy Youssef and A24. The series is part of a new first-look deal between Amazon Studios and Youssef’s production imprint Cairo Cowboy. The as-yet untitled comedy will exclusively stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Peacock has put in development Avenger Field, a one-hour drama series starring and executive produced by Oscar winner Renée Zellweger, from writer Felicia D. Henderson and MGM Television, Deadline has confirmed. The project also hails from Zellweger’s Big Picture Co, Toluca Pictures and North Rose Pictures. MGM Television is the studio.
