Soccer AM is set to be shown for the final time this weekend after being part of football fans’ Saturday morning rituals since 1995.
The programme has been a pre-match staple for many throughout its 28-year run, with long-time presenting duo Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain still fondly remembered by fans of the show. Soccer AM is currently hosted by former Premier League midfielder Jimmy Bullard and John ‘Fenners’ Fendley. The final 90-minute episode will be broadcast at 10.30am on Saturday (Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League).
Soccer AM thrived on long-running gags and viral clips from across the world of football. The crossbar challenge, car park game and fans of the week were all highlights of a show that also spawned the ‘Easy’ chants that were heard up and down the country in the 2000s. However, it was reported in March that Sky was cancelling the show at the end of the league season, with the news finally confirmed this month.

Soccer AM was originally hosted by Chamberlain and Russ Williams in 1995, with Gary Stevens also presenting for a year, before Lovejoy joined the show in 1997. The latter remained part of the show for 10 years, with Andy Goldstein
