Erik ten Hag may be displeased with John Murtough's latest January transfer window comments, as Manchester United's football director poured cold water over the prospect of any further spending.
United's summer transfer window saw six new players arrive and £225million spent. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka all arrived at Old Trafford.
The biggest fees paid out were for Antony (£85.5m), Casemiro (£60m) and Martinez (£56m) - all of whom will ultimately help bolster United's starting XI, alongside Malacia (£14.9m) and Eriksen (free).

Murtough recently gave an update on the club's transfer plans, during which he said: "Overall, we are ahead of schedule in our recruitment plans as envisaged at the start of the summer, and we do not anticipate the same level of activity in future windows. As always, our planning focuses on the summer window."
This caution from Murtough, however, will perhaps not sit too well with Ten Hag. The Dutchman knows how important it is to have squad depth as he spoke about during his time at Ajax.
He told the Dutch club's in-house media: "If for long periods of time, you’re playing three games a week, then players can drop out of the team, from injury, suspension – and then you have to be able to take that in stride.
"With a dressing room that has to be deep enough, and if I’m talking about squad depth, I’m really talking about the quality of the depth. In this way, a lot of players have a role, an important role, in reaching our goals. It’s not eleven players, it’s a full team that all have to contribute."
