The tease at the end of “Fast X” hinted at it, but now it’s official: THR reports that Dwayne Johnson will return to the “Fast And Furious” franchise for another installment. So does that mean Luke Hobbs will return for “Fast 11“? Not so fast: this new film isn’t that one, “Fast 12,” or even a spinoff like 2019’s “Hobbs and Shaw.” Instead, the movie will serve as a bridge between “Fast X” and its sequel, with other “Fast And Furious” also involved.
Matt Donnelly Senior Film Writer Dwayne Johnson is returning to the “Fast and Furious” universe with a new standalone film, reprising his franchise role as Luke Hobbs. Universal Pictures announced the project on Thursday. Longtime “Fast and Furious” collaborator Chris Morgan wrote the untitled film’s script. Plot details were not available, though individuals familiar with the deal said the new movie will bridge between the events of the just-released “Fast X” and the upcoming “Fast X: Part II,” which is expected in 2025. Johnson just appeared as Hobbs, a diplomatic security service agent, in a credits scene for “Fast X.” Johnson will produce the film with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia for their Seven Bucks Productions, along with Vin Diesel and Samantha Vincent via their One Race Films. Additional producers include Chris Morgan for his Chris Morgan Productions, Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films and Neal Moritz for Original Film.

Amon Warmann Guest Contributor Fantasy show composers Gustavo Santaolalla (“The Last of Us”), Bear McCreary (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”) and Ramin Djawadi (“House of the Dragon”) knew going in that their respective projects had built-in audiences — and that those fandoms should be kept in mind while creating their scores. “The Last of Us” showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin told Santaolalla that music needed to be “another character” for the HBO series adapted from the video game he previously scored. Rather than create new themes, Santaolalla organically transitioned the music to TV. The South American instrument called “the ronroco,” which he used to write “The Last of Us” theme, was integral in keeping that connectivity for fans who had experienced Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie’s (Bella Ramsay) journey before.

Madix, who ended her nine-year relationship with Tom Sandoval after discovering with her best friend, Raquel Leviss, appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast in an episode that aired Wednesday, May 24, where she shared brand new details about Scandoval.Throughout the podcast episode, called Sandoval an “absentee boyfriend,” and said, "I didn't lose him.
Ariana Madix is spilling even more Scandoval tea. On the latest episode of the podcast, the star gave fans more insight into her ex Tom Sandoval's months-long affair with Raquel Leviss.Among the biggest bombshells from the episode was Madix's claim that, while she was at the home she owns with her ex, Sandoval and Leviss hooked up in the other room.«They had sex in my guest room while I was sleeping in my own bed that he and I went into bed in together and then he left the bed and went to the guest room and f**ked her,» Madix said.As for the rumor that Madix and Sandoval were in an open relationship at the time of his affair, the former reality star denied that and suggested that her ex was the one to push that narrative.«Honestly, I think [that rumor] came from him,» Madix said, recalling how, in January, she came out to deny tabloid reports that they were in an open relationship.According to Madix, there was no indication that they weren't exclusive, as they were living together, sleeping in the same bed, and shared a romantic date night as recently as Valentine's Day.Madix additionally addressed Sandoval's claim that he tried to end the relationship several times and that she had an extreme reaction to that prospect.
Ellise Shafer “Fast X,” the latest installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, is speeding to a projected $67.25 million debut at the domestic box office this weekend. The street racing movie earned $28 million on Friday from 4,046 theaters, and is expected to gross another $22.43 million on Saturday and $16.82 million on Sunday. This will be enough to knock Disney and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” out of the top spot, as the superhero tale is expected to pull in $32.89 million in its third weekend of release, bringing its North American total to over $267 million. On Thursday, “Fast X” raked in $7.5 million in previews, putting it on track to earn more than $60 million in its first weekend of release. That puts the tenth chapter in the “Fast” saga at No. 7 in terms of highest box office debuts, between 2021’s “F9: The Fast Saga” ($70 million) and 2019’s “Hobbs and Shaw” ($60 million). Globally, “Fast X” is looking to bring in $220 million overseas in its opening weekend. The movie cost Universal $340 million to produce and another $100 million to promote, so “Fast X” will need Fast Family members from around the world to speed to theaters in order to turn a profit.
This post contains spoilers for Fast X.
“Fast X,” the tenth movie in the franchise, is “the beginning of the end of the road.” And that an eleventh film, once again directed by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier (who joined the series after creative differences led to Justin Lin leaving “Fast X” mid-production), is soon on the horizon.Everybody is back for “Fast X,” from series regulars like Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster and Sung Kang to more recent additions like John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel and Jason Statham, to car-loving characters completely new to the franchise like Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Jason Momoa (stealing every scene he’s in), Daniela Melchior and, for some reason, Rita Moreno. Because when you think about the fuel-injected “Fast and Furious” franchise, you think about the 91-year-old actress who appeared in “Singin’ in the Rain” and both versions of “West Side Story.”And this cumulative, everybody’s back attitude brings to mind, of course, the Marvel Studios canon – specifically “Avengers: Infinity War,” which set the stage for the grand finale of the first era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Joe Leydon Film CriticHard to believe this whole thing got started by street racers hijacking truckloads of DVD players and TV/VCR combos. When “The Fast and The Furious” zoomed into theaters in Summer 2001, it initially was greeted by many critics (including yours truly) as a flashily entertaining but instantly forgettable recycling of characters and conventions from decades-old B-movies about hot rods and cool cats. (Even its title was cribbed from a 1954 Roger Corman opus.) Who could have imagined it would spawn no fewer than nine sequels and a stand-alone spin-off? Or that the increasingly faster and more furious franchise would evolve into a series of sci-fi-influenced capers involving a blue collar “Mission: Impossible” team? With the arrival this week of “Fast X,” purportedly the first film in a triptych that will conclude the decades-old saga, Variety updated the least-to-best ranking of all the “F&F” films.
Brie Larson, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez "would love" to make an all-female 'Fast and Furious' spin-off movie. The actresses are currently promoting 'Fast X', the tenth installment of the series and not only do they love working together, they think a women-focused action film would be good for the wider movie industry. Discussing the prospect, Brie told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I don't think we'd be mad about anything that involved ladies all together.
Vin Diesel is teasing a potential 12th “Fast and Furious” film.
There may be a little more gas left in the tank for the “Fast And Furious” franchise. Variety reports that Vin Diesel teased at the world premiere of “Fast X” in Rome that the new film may not be the penultimate one in the series.
Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez have teased the possibility of a twelfth Fast And Furious film. The upcoming tenth instalment, titled Fast X, has been billed as the beginning of the end of the saga. It was previously thought that the eleventh film would serve as the second part of the finale. However, Diesel and Rodriguez have now revealed plans for a twelfth and final film, having been asked by Universal to conclude the franchise with a trilogy.“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel told Variety.
