Diogo Dalot revealed the Manchester United players kept a calm head at half-time against Brentford despite producing an underwhelming first 45 minutes.
United were fortunate to still be level against the Bees at the break and required more heroics from David de Gea to keep the hosts out.
But they played like a different team after the break and Dalot said that was inspired by simple messages rather than any raised voices at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford scored in the second half, before Ivan Toney struck a late consolation for the hosts.
“We conceded too many counter-attacks in the first half and too many balls we shouldn't have lost. It was a good reaction in the second half, we were more compact, more physical and more aggressive in the second balls, more clinical in the final third," Dalot told MUTV.
“We were calm in the dressing room, we knew we weren't doing enough to win the game, we conceded some chances to the opponent that we shouldn’t but we knew what we needed to do. We had to be more aggressive on the second balls, more intense on the counter and clinical in the final third."
Dalot felt the quality of some of United's goals on the break highlighted their strengths and wants a repeat performance against West Ham this weekend in what is proving to be an intense race for the top four.
“Not just for Anthony but Mason coming back to goals, Rashy off the bench to score, everyone is important, if we build this on the next couple of games we're going to be a much more mature team," he said.
“That’s [counter attack] one of our strengths, we need to keep doing this, the space is there, the quality is there. Sometimes the serving isn’t quite right and we need to
