Fans of Disney+/Marvel series What If…? got a pleasant surprise at today’s Marvel Studios’ Animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel revealed the Emmy-nominated series has been picked up for a third season, ahead of its Season 2 premiere. What If….? Season 2 launches exclusively on Disney+ in early 2023.
What If…? director Bryan Andrews and writer-exec producer AC Bradley revealed the news at the end of the show’s presentatation following a surprise screening of a Season 2 episode.
Per Marvel & Disney+, “What If…?” Season 2 continues the journey with The Watcher as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The animated series questions, revisits, and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.
Jeffrey Wright stars as the Watcher, who narrates the series, alongside several MCU film actors reprising their roles.
The series is directed by Andrews and Bradley is head writer.

EXCLUSIVE: Three months into production on Season 1 of Beacon 23, Spectrum Originals and AMC Networks’ psychological thriller series starring Lena Headey and Stephan James, has been renewed for a second season. Charlie Cox’s iteration of Daredevil is getting a second life via Daredevil: Born Again—a new series coming to Disney+ with an 18-episode first season in 2024. Joining Cox on the show is Vincent D’Onofrio, who reprises his role from recent Marvel series as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.

“The Wheel of Time” isn’t going anywhere. The Prime Video fantasy saga, based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling novels, has been renewed for a third season, it was announced Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con.
The series is set in a magical world accessible to a select few, where a woman named Moiraine (Pike) crosses paths with five young men and women, resulting in a dangerous, world-spanning journey. On how the series will stay in budget for the upcoming season, showrunner Rafe Judkins told TheWrap earlier, “We don’t have the budget of a lot of shows on TV, but we’re trying to deliver everything we can, like every dollar that we have is being juiced to put something on screen so that we can bring as much of this big, epic world that Robert Jordan created to life.”In late April, it was announced that “Killing Eve” alum Ayoola Smart would be added to the series, though details of her character were not released.
