A West Lothian man who had to watch through a care home window as his dad deteriorated says Boris Johnson needs to “do the decent thing” and resign over this week’s revelations of a BYOB party at Downing Street during lockdown.
In the last months of his life, Tommy Davidson’s dad Lex could not stand, talk or eat very well and for months the former councillor’s family could not visit him because of the risk of covid.

Lex passed away in November last year and Tommy said when his family were allowed to see him they had to keep their distance and wear a mask.
There was no holding hands, kisses, cuddles or privacy - “just a wave goodbye.”
He told The Courier: “Like thousands of people, we had to stand at a window and wave and try and have a conversation. Watching my mother was painful and his grandchildren were not able to visit.
“We all wanted to hug and kiss him or even just hold his hand and be with him, but that wasn’t allowed. My dad’s freedom was taken and there was nothing we could do.
“I could look into my dad’s eyes and see he was scared, but he wasn’t allowed visitors when the care home was in lockdown.
“He may have
