You have to watch the trailer for Hulu‘s highly anticipated film Prey, which is the newest installment in the hit Predator franchise.
Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru (Amber Midthunder), a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
The film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent including Amber, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, Julian Black Antelope, and former professional basketball player Dane DiLiegro, who plays the Predator.

Prey will be available on Hulu entirely in Comanche as a language option, or with Comanche subtitles, which is the first time a feature-length movie on a direct-to-consumer streaming platform has been available in the Comanche language in its entirety.
The film hits the streamer this Friday (August 5).

Not many directors would follow an Oscar Best Picture win with a genre remake of a film with a mixed reception on its release almost 75 years ago. But that’s what Guillermo del Toro did with last year’s luxurious noir “Nightmare Alley,” his follow-up to 2017’s “The Shape Of Water.” “Nightmare Alley” didn’t quite catch on despite a great case, but maybe del Toro’s next film will bring a real shot of life.
