The actor revealed on “The Tonight Show” that a cold prevented her from watching the movie at its premiere, and then she refused to watch the watermarked screener Disney sent her as a back-up because it was just too “distracting.”“I’m not one of those [actors who doesn’t watch her own movies],” Olsen said.

Netflix looks to be reuniting with some familiar faces as sources tell Deadline the streamer has come on to Joe and Anthony Russo’s next directing feature The Electric State with Millie Bobby Brown set to star. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely adapted the script, with the Russos and Mike Larocca producing for AGBO. Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall are also producing.

In addition, 80 short and feature films will be available to stream online through the festival’s Speed-of-Light Virtual Cinema from July 6-31.

Tisha Campbell is still feeling the love after BET's  reunion -- but that doesn’t mean she's down for a reboot. Earlier this year, Campbell, Martin Lawrence, Tichina Arnold and Carl Anthony Payne II reunited, marking nearly 30 years since they first graced the small screen together. One person missing was Tommy Ford, who played Tommy on the series, and died in 2016 at age 52. Campbell told ET that although the reunion was «magic,» Ford's absence would make a reboot difficult. «Tommy is not with us so that's a little hard to say,» the 53-year-old actress told ET's Kevin Frazier at the 2022 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards are set to be handed out Friday in a two-hour telecast hosted by Entertainment Tonight duo Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner that will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ at 6 p.m. ET/PT. The ceremony takes place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, with the show in-person again after being virtual the past two years.

David Dobrik is facing a major lawsuit from former Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek after a 2020 stunt gone wrong.According to court docs obtained by ET, Wittek is seeking $10 million in damages for «general negligence and intentional tort,» alleging that he missed out on work and sustained hospital bills due to the intense injuries he suffered as a result of the incident.In Wittek's filing, he claims that while being swung on a rope tied to an excavator while filming a video with Dobrik in Provo, Utah, in June 2020, Dobrik spun the construction equipment at «unsafe speeds» before slowing the machine suddenly, causing Wittek to collide with the side of the excavator. Wittek claims he suffered «a myriad of injuries» including a broken skull, facial fractures and eye damage — something Wittek discussed in his 2021 YouTube docuseries, , where he shared more details about the incident.In light of his alleged injuries, per the docs, Wittek is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.Dobrik addressed the incident in March on his  video podcast.   «The Jeff thing is the f**king worst,» Dobrik said during the episode.

Eric Brevig and Greg Butler have been hired as visual effect supervisors at VFX and animation studio DNEG, the studio announced Thursday.Both Brevig and Butler come to the studio as winners of the Academy Award winners for best visual effects. Brevig won for “Total Recall” in 1991, while Butler won and Oscar and a BAFTA for “1917” in 2020.

The Gaslight Anthem played a surprise show in New Jersey at the weekend (June 18) ahead of their comeback tour later this summer.The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, but played together in 2018 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their second album ‘The ‘59 Sound’.In March 2022, frontman Brian Fallon announced online that the band would be returning to “full-time status”, including working on their sixth album and heading back out on the road. The tour is set to kick off in Europe in August.Before that, however, The Gaslight Anthem surprised fans who turned up at New Jersey venue Crossroads for a solo show from Fallon.

Christopher Vourlias Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, whose feature debut “Pamfir” premiered in Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight section, and director and former political prisoner Oleh Sentsov (“Rhino”) are among the Ukrainian filmmakers who say they’re “distraught” by the inclusion of a Russian film in the main competition at the Transilvania Film Festival.In a statement posted on Monday to the Facebook page for “Pamfir,” the filmmakers spoke out against the selection of Russian director Lado Kvataniya’s “The Execution” as one of 12 features competing for the Transilvania Trophy, criticizing the “illusion of cultural reconciliation” created by the festival’s decision and insisting that “art does not exist outside of politics.” The filmmakers noted that Kvataniya’s psychological thriller was produced with the support of the state-backed Russian Film Fund as well as Kinoprime, the $100 million film fund bankrolled by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who has been sanctioned by the U.K.

Katherine Tulich Lukas Dhont’s “Close,” which won the Grand Prix in Cannes last month, picked up the Sydney Film Prize, the top prize at the Sydney Film Festival, on Sunday evening.Accepting the award via video message Dhont said: “It’s a film that comes from our hearts, that we worked on for a lot of years with many people.”The international jury consisted of Australian actor David Wenham, Australian director Jennifer Peedom, writer-director-producer Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (Bangladesh), Berlin Golden Bear winner Semih Kaplanoglu (Turkey), and the executive director of the Kawakita Memorial Film Institute in Tokyo, Yuka Sakano (Japan). Twelve titles in the official competition included Carla Simon’s “Alcarras”, Hlynur Palmason’s “Godland”, Colm Bairead’s “The Quiet Girl” and Del Kathryn Barton’s “Blaze.” The winner is awarded AUD$60,000 ($41,600).
