A stunning, but bizarre, sky was visible throughout Scotland this evening before full darkness arrived.
The spectacle left the sky glowing in parts of Scotland this evening with areas of Glasgow enjoying the best of the show.
Scotland's biggest city was glowing with shades of pink and purple illuminating the skies.
Unfortunately, the strange hue lasted only a few minutes as the sun set over the city.
It was enough time for people to snap some amazing pictures and post comments on social media, however.
One Twitter user asked: "Are you even living in Glasgow just now if you aren’t tweeting about the weird colour the sky went. What are we thinking: Alien invasion? Celestial event? Snow storm?"
Some took to social media as they simply wanted answers...
Mhari MacCallum turned to STV's weatherman asking "What’s going on with the sky in #Glasgow just now? @bbcweather@SeanBattyTV "
Others were a bit concerned about our safety...
@amwilson30 asked: "What’s with the sky over Glasgow? Are we about to be invaded?
@johannesxxiv asked expressed concerns. She tweeted, "Apocalyptic sky over the city of Glasgow right now."
Did you spot the pretty sky, or have any idea what caused it?
