Warner Bros TV Names Vicki Dummer Head of Current Programming

As many have expected, it appears AMC Theatres has agreed with Warner Bros. to collapse the theatrical window from almost 90 days to 45 days when the studio begins doing exclusive theatrical releases again in 2022.

Adult Swim’s Jason DeMarco has taken on a newly expanded role at Warner Bros. The veteran creative executive has been named SVP Anime & Action Series/Longform for Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios.

Among the films set for release by Warner Bros. next year are the DC films “The Batman,” “Black Adam,” “The Flash” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” The studio also plans to release the Baz Luhrmann biopic “Elvis” starring newcomer Austin Butler as Elvis Presley and Tom Hanks as Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

In what doesn’t come as shocking news, AMC Entertainment chairman-CEO Adam Aron said that the No. 1 theater chain has inked a deal with Warner Bros. ensuring a 45-day theatrical window for the studio’s releases in 2022. Warner had previously hammered out a 45-day theatrical window with No. 2 circuit Cineworld, and its U.S. counterpart Regal, earlier this year as the Burbank, CA was slammed by the industry and talent reps for its day-and-date theatrical-HBO Max streaming model.

Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, “By All” centers on “the aftermath of a tragic event and follows Donte, a man struggling to make ends meet who is forced to go on the run in a world without police, where justice is crowd-sourced.”Caple will produce “By All” alongside Legendary’s Mary Parent and Alex Garcia as well as Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson. Taylor and Rettenmaier will produce as well.
