Joe Biden‘s campaign is speaking out about reports claiming he supports defunding police.

BET is offering President Donald Trump and presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden the opportunity to face Black America in a presidential forum that would air on June 19, also known as Juneteenth, a day that celebrates the abolishment of slavery in this country. 

Joe Biden spent time chatting and taking photos with supporters in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware this week, as seen in since-expired videos, initially posted to his Instagram Stories. The presumptive Democratic nominee wore a protective mask amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He took photos with three black males, one of which can be heard saying, “He’s got my vote,” in the clip.

Former Vice President Joe Biden delivered an impassioned speech slamming President Donald Trump on June 2, calling him out for “fanning the flames of hate” amid nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd. Trump tweeted days earlier that protestors were “thugs,” and threatened on June 1 to invoke the Insurrection Act as demonstrators launched into their fourth day of protesting police brutality while being teargassed by police.

When Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden told Charlamagne tha God last week during an interview that if “you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” it caused quite a bit of controversy. However, comedian Wanda Sykes didn’t have a problem with the comment and continued to voice her support on Twitter, but Happy Days alum Scott Baio had questions.

Scott Baio and Wanda Sykes don’t see eye to eye about a recent interview in which Joe Biden said, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or [Donald] Trump, then you ain’t black.” The Democratic nominee voiced the latter during an interview with Charlamagne tha God on The Breakfast Club, May 22. Sykes later defended Biden by suggesting on Twitter that he “made a bad joke.”
