Betsy Brandt on Her ‘Better Call Saul’ Cameo, Not Wearing Purple and How ‘Hank Was in My Heart’

Jordan Moreau  Out of all the cameos in the “Better Call Saul” finale, the most surprising had to have been Betsy Brandt back as Marie, since fans haven’t seen her since the final episodes of “Breaking Bad” in 2013. Dean Norris had appeared as Hank Schrader, Marie’s husband and a DEA agent, in “Better Call Saul” Season 5, but having Marie cross over into Saul’s (Bob Odenkirk) story seemed almost too far-fetched. That is, until Saul was finally arrested, and Marie was there to watch his downfall.Brandt only appeared in a handful of scenes, but her appearance was cathartic for Marie, who finally got some justice for Hank’s death near the end of “Breaking Bad.” She even got to tell off Saul after his arrest: “No matter what they do with you now, no matter where they put you or for how long, it will never be enough.”

‘Breaking Bad’ Was ‘Rigged’ in Walt’s Favor and Undeserved Skyler Hate ‘Troubled’ Anna Gunn, Vince Gilligan Says

Ethan Shanfeld In “Breaking Bad,” Walter White (Bryan Cranston) builds a multi-million dollar meth empire, all while lying to his family and mercilessly killing those who stand in his way. But it was often his wife Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn, who was viewed as the villain in the story. In a lengthy interview with The New Yorker, “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan opened up about the undeserved, and often sexist, hatred toward Skyler, saying that it “troubled” him and Gunn.“Back when the show first aired, Skyler was roundly disliked,” Gilligan said. “I think that always troubled Anna Gunn.

‘Breaking Bad’ statues criticised by Republicans: “We’re glorifying meth makers”

Breaking Bad characters for “glorifying meth makers”.Last month, bronze statues of the fictional characters Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) from the series were unveiled at the Albuquerque Convention Centre in New Mexico. The ceremony was attended by Breaking Bad cast members and crew, along with Albuquerque mayor Tim Keller. The statues, commissioned by Sony Pictures Television and show creator Vince Gilligan, were donated in the hopes they will attract “busloads of tourists” to the city, which served as the setting for Breaking Bad and spin-off Better Call Saul.Speaking to Fox News, Republican state representative Rod Montoya criticised the statues, saying: “I’m glad New Mexico got the business, but really? We’re going down the road of literally glorifying meth makers?”Eddy Aragon, a conservative radio host based in Albuquerque, shared the same sentiment, saying: “It’s not the type of recognition we want for the city of Albuquerque, or for our state.“I think what you saw on Breaking Bad should be a documentary honestly,” he added.

‘Better Call Saul’s’ Brilliant, Emotional Finale Is ‘Breaking Bad’ in Reverse: TV Review

Daniel D'Addario Chief TV CriticSpoiler alert: This review contains spoilers for “Saul Gone,” the series finale of “Better Call Saul.”It turns out that there was one person the once and future Jimmy McGill would put ahead of his own self-interest.In the striking and elegant finale to one of TV’s most consistently strong dramas of the past decade, Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman, to borrow a phrase, broke good. Having finally been apprehended, Saul structured a plea bargain that would have him in and out of prison in a plausibility-stretching-but-who’s-counting seven years.

‘Better Call Saul’ Co-Creator Peter Gould Breaks Down the Surprising Series Finale and Jimmy and Kim’s Ending

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeSPOILER ALERT: Do not read if you haven’t watched the series finale of “Better Call Saul,” Season 6 Episode 13, “Saul Gone.”In the end, Jimmy McGill unbroke bad. Just when it looked like Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) had finessed his way into a sweet plea agreement — just seven years at the most country club-like of correctional facilities (low-security FCI Butner Low, which even has a golfing program!) — he reversed course and confessed all, in Monday night’s series finale of AMC’s “Better Call Saul.”It was a finale rife with references to regret, time machines and how there’s “no shame in going back and changing your path,” as Chuck McGill (played by Michael McKean, who returns in a flashback) tells his younger brother.

‘Better Call Saul’ showrunner opens up about returning ‘Breaking Bad’ characters

Better Call Saul showrunner Peter Gould has opened up about bringing Breaking Bad’s Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jessie Pinkman (Aaron Paul) back to the show in a new interview. After the two actors were confirmed to appear in the Breaking Bad spin-off’s final season earlier this year, Paul and Cranston finally made their debut during a flashback sequence in the latest episode, titled Breaking Bad.Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gould was asked about what it was like bringing back the two characters and the “dangers” on doing that after a long time away.Gould explained: “The danger was that we were going to be eating the seed corn. If people are only watching the show to see callbacks to a previous show, I don’t think we’re doing our job.“We were pretty disciplined in the beginning about not bringing back a lot of Breaking Bad characters until we really established our world.

‘Better Call Saul’ Creators Have ‘No Plans’ for Another ‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff, But ‘Never Say Never’

Selome Hailu Next Monday, AMC will debut one of the most anticipated episodes of television in 2022: the series finale of “Better Call Saul,” co-creators Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan’s six-season spinoff to the hit drama “Breaking Bad.” At the Television Critics Association 2022 summer press tour, Gould and Gilligan said they didn’t want to overdo the universe of these shows, but didn’t deny the possibility of another installment altogether.“Vegas metaphors are probably a mistake, but you just can’t keep putting all your money on red 21 over and over again,” Gilligan said. “We probably pushed it doing a spinoff of ‘Breaking Bad.’ I could not be more happy with the results, and then I did ‘El Camino’ [a ‘Breaking Bad’ sequel film], and I’m very proud of that, but… you better know when to leave the party.” “So I don’t have any plans right now to do anything more in this universe,” he continued, before adding: “I know I was asked at the end of ‘Breaking Bad’ and I gave the same answer. I gotta prove to myself that I’m not a one-trick pony.

Lot of sweaty palms, a lot of sleepless nights. And yeah, I mean, I think when you say who are we going to please, I think we know.
