A sickening night stalker cycled round a city centre hunting vulnerable women to rape. Takeaway worker Tamer Eren, 42, had his pocket stuffed with Viagra tablets as he slowly prowled the streets of Hull in search of a victim.

She had started walking home along Alfred Gelder Street towards Drypool Bridge when Eren latched onto her. He offered her a light for a cigarette and pushed his bike alongside her.

His aggression, fuelled by his desire for sex at any cost, took hold. He gripped her by the wrist as they crossed the bridge and then pushed her down stairs and into a secluded area. He then pulled down her clothes and raped her.
The victim recalled shouting: "No, no, no." Hull Crown Court heard Eren just laughed and carried on.
Eren later cycled away but returned to picked up his coat and pulled it away from her. She eventually phoned the police, who arrived on the scene. The police found her frightened and sitting down near bushes.
Eren was convicted by a jury after trial. He tried to talk his way out of trouble by pretending that the woman had consented to sex and even concocted what the judge branded a "ludicrous and insulting" story that the victim had blackmailed him.
In court, prosecutor Jeremy Evans said that the woman had been left feeling empty in the aftermath of the rape. She had gone being a "huggy and smiley person" to blaming herself for what happened.
