A vet has taken to social media to share the four cat breeds that he would never buy.
Posting under the username @ben.the.vet on TikTok, the animal expert shares the specific reason that he would avoid each breed.
While in most cases he would avoid buying the cats due to health issues or personal preference, Ben does describe one breed as "dangerous to handle" in some instances.
Ben starts off by specifying that he would never buy these cats, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he would never own one, reports the Mirror.
He had previously shared the breeds of dogs that he would never own, as well as the dogs he would choose to have as pets - but as he has titled his clip: "now it's the cats' turn!".
In the clip, the vet explains: "I say buy because if it was a rescue situation and they needed to be adopted, then that's different and I would consider it. Remember that as with the previous videos, this is just based on my personal experience as a vet."
He added: "When we're talking about health problems there is science to back up what I'm saying, but ultimately this is my opinion."
One of the four breeds he listed are Bengals, which he described as "beautiful looking cats". However, he said they are "quite wild" as they are hybrids between a type of wild cat called Asian Leopard Cat and domestic cat breeds.
Ben explained: "So they're still quite wild in terms of their behaviour and temperament. And at the vets, they have a reputation for being quite aggressive.
"Usually, it's our fear that they can actually be really quite dangerous to handle. They're highly intelligent, they need a lot of stimulation and unfortunately, a lot of homes just aren't right for them."
