A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a van in a horror hit and run.
Police have launched a probe after the incident happened on Old Dalkeith Road in Edinburgh at around 11.35am on Saturday, May 28.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the 39-year-old woman who was riding the bike was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.
The vehicle, believed to be a small white van or similar, did not stop at the scene and officers are appealing for information.
Constable Gary Barkham, from Edinburgh Road Policing, said: "We are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with information on the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.
"Any information could prove useful to our investigation.
"Please call police on 101, quoting incident 1468 of May 28.
"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
