For all involved, prolific author and cultural critic Chuck Klosterman’s 2008 book “Downtown Owl” sets the stage for a number of firsts. For starters, it’s Klosterman’s earliest fiction novel and is the source at the heart of Lily Rabe (“The Tender Bar”) and Hamish Linklater’s (“Midnight Mass”) joint directorial debut which just premiered at the Tribeca Festival.If only the freshness associated with all these firsts was felt in the film by Rabe and Linklater, who are both creative collaborators and real-life partners.

The  actress accessorized the look with a bold, red lip and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.In addition to cheering on PSG, Portman, who helped co-found the Los Angeles National Women's Soccer League team, Angel City FC,  was seen chatting with tennis star, Novak Djokovic, who was seated a few rows behind her.Like many of the fans in the stands, Portman was also captured taking photos of the match, which despite a loss from PSG, ended with the famed football club earning the Ligue 1 title for the 11th time.The smiling photos mark the first public appearance for Portman since French outlet  alleged that Millepied had been having an affair with a 25-year-old woman.A source told  that the alleged affair was «short-lived and it is over,» adding that the Oscar winner and her dancer husband have been privately working through their marital struggles despite the allegations.«He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together,» the source told the outlet.

James Corden appears to be the latest star to meet up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The comedian, who recently ended his late night talk show "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and relocated back to the U.K., visited the United States and apparently stopped in to say hi to the Sussexes.  Corden’s vehicle appeared to be heading toward Harry and Markle's Montecito home, a source told Fox News Digital.  "They [Corden and his family] went to Harry's for about an hour and then went to dinner at Lucky's [Steakhouse]," the insider said.

CBS has set premiere dates for its summer slate of reality television programming, including three returning and one new series.  “Secret Celebrity Renovation” kicks off the lineup with a July 28 premiere followed by the Aug. 2 debut of “Big Brother” Season 25. The all-new musical game show “Superfan” will launch on Aug. 9, and finally “The Challenge: USA” returns for its second season on Aug. 10.  “Big Brother’s” 25th season will debut with a special 90-minute episode on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m. ET while a group of new Houseguests arrive at the “Big Brother” house. Following its premiere, the series will air on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. followed by Thursdays at 9 p.m. featuring live evictions.

William Earl Variety has announced the initial lineup for the Kering Women in Motion talks at the Cannes Film Festival. Moderated by Variety’s Senior Correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister, this year’s talks include some of the most important women working in cinema and offers a mix between up-and-coming talent and iconic figures such as Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh. On Thursday, May 18, playwright, actor and philanthropist Jeremy O. Harris, who stars in Directors’ Fortnight premiere “The Sweet East,” will kick off the Women in Motion series to discuss female representation in his work. Following Harris’ talk, actress and director Katie Holmes will speak about her work as a director and how the industry has changed in its approach to female directors since she first began working in television.

Natalie Portman said that sexual harassment non-profit Time’s Up “dissipating” has been “really heartbreaking” and “painful”. The Black Swan actress, 41, was vocal in her support for the organisation, which was founded in the wake of the #MeToo movement, along with other Hollywood figures.

Sophia Scorziello editor Eva Longoria’s fictional feature directorial debut “Flamin’ Hot” staring Jesse Garcia will open the 2023 Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, announced Wednesday as part of the full festival lineup. This year, the festival will feature over 80 films, 19 world premieres and 100 student films. LALIFF will take place May 31-June 4 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Longoria’s film is based on the true story of Richard Montañez (Garcia), the Frito Lay janitor who used his Mexican American heritage to turn one snack into a global sensation. Closing the festival is the Los Angeles premiere of Julio Torres’s A24 feature film “Problemista” starring Torres and Tilda Swinton, which tells the story of an aspiring Salvadorian toy maker in New York City and the race against his work visa as he tries to realize his dreams.
