Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival will not return to Los Angeles in 2022.Festival organisers are instead planning for its 2023 return, which would end its four-year absence.The rapper’s manager, Chris Clancy, told Billboard that the reason is “really not that deep”.“Tyler toured all year and was busy with a number of projects. Reading the tea leaves and what’s happening with festivals coming out of the pandemic, we thought it would be best to come back next year,” he said.The last Camp Flog Gnaw was held in 2019.

Bob Saget’s final film, "Daniel’s Gotta Die," is scheduled to premiere as part of the 2022 Austin Film Festival lineup.  The comedy centers on a man named Daniel who is trying to reconnect with his family, only to realize his family is trying to kill him to get his inheritance. Saget appears in the project as a character named Lawrence, but it isn’t clear what Lawrence’s role in the movie is.  The film also stars Jason Jones, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin and Iggy Pop. Working on this season’s seventh episode when speaking to Variety, Milinac and his 13-person team are prepping a “burn stage” and all of its elements so that it can be turn-key ready for filming on Tuesday morning. “That’s a lot of push, especially after we just wrapped an exterior fire that was condensed — which means things are overlapping — and next, we have some carnage with a handful of vehicles, which means we’re going to have some pre-damage to do in advance.”

Jordan and William Monahan’s adaptation of John Banville’s novel “The Black-Eyed Blonde” centers Raymond Chandler’s famous detective Philip Marlowe, and – like Chandler’s books – is set in 1930s Los Angeles. Jordan said it was confusing to call it a film noir. “First of all, it’s shot in color,” he said. Even though it is set in the past, it’s a futuristic film that provided his reference point for the look of this one.

The weeklong festival at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles closes with Dominik Moll’s thriller “The Night of the 12th,” about a cold case where the only certainty is the night it occurred. Moll will also be the focus of the festival’s annual “Focus on a Filmmaker.” “Every year, The American French Film Festival presents the very best of French cinema and television, and this year is no exception. I am personally excited about the opening night selection of Jean-Jacques Annaud’s ‘Notre-Dame on Fire’ as I think it perfectly embodies the Franco-American Cultural Fund’s mission,” said Andrea Berloff, writer and board member of the Franco-American Cultural Fund.

AFI FEST 2022 will take place exclusively in person in Los Angeles from Nov. 2-6 with all the above films to screen at the TCL Chinese Theater.

Thania Garcia Maluma and Megan Thee Stallion are set to headline Penske Media Corp.’s first-ever culture and creativity festival, LA3C. The two-day event is set to take place on Dec. 10 and 11 at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. Megan will headline the show on the 10th, while Maluma will headline on the 11th. The festival will welcome Seventeen and Snoop Dogg as guest performers. Both are part of LA3C’s full talent lineup, which is set to showcase musicians, chefs and visual artists. Full programming details will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The event, staged by the parent company of Variety, aims to connect people and communities by showcasing LA’s range of multicultural food and art from some of the world’s most talented artists. The festival’s moniker, LA3C, stands for Los Angeles, the Capital of Culture and Creativity.
